He's not bad at all. Together with Johnson they are the best foreigner players of Riga. We have to thank Sejejs.

Does anyone else get frustrated with Giroux? He's got to be the slowest player in the league. I like that fight he got into vs Metallurg, but he doesn't seem to play with much intensity. I'd rather Schremp get more minutes than him. Or bring Dzerins to the top 6.

I do. He has more goals than Johnson/Szczechura, because he has a great snipe, but falls flat in other categories: defence, speed, playmaking (and Melrose would've said: "Forecheck" ). And he can't take face-offs.

I'm just wondering if there are still people left here who think that Bukarts, Dzerins, Meija or other nobodies should play on the 1st line instead of Indrašis Some time ago there were voices saying that Indrašis is nothing special and anyone could do the same stats if got as much minutes per game...

Ohh, so now you are talking. Where have you been 3 games ago, when Indrasis had same amount of points with "nobody" Dzerins, who did not play all PP time. Yeah, Indrasis scored 4pts vs weakest team in the league. And had great game vs SKA. Lets see if he can continue that way...

Sorry, if you not talking about me. Because i sad little bit different thing. That no one from these Latvian guys should play in the first line, they all are pretty much equally bad.

Here we have pretty much the only player who could challenge Yakupov for a rookie of the year and you are still arguing he's not better or has a higher skill level than guys which are 3 years older and have accomplished nothing in offensive production department during previous seasons. Piece of trivia for you: Indrasis has more points in the KHL after 21 games than Dzerins after 81. I'm not even talking about Bukarts or Meija.

Just give yourself a break, you are being ridiculous.

Ok, lets wait and see, how he can keep hes productivity going. Because like i said, 3 games ago he had 9pts in 18 games, not much for a first line player. Now he shines in 2 games, and suddenly he is a Latvian Yakupov..

lol, you really think that these were my words about Latvian Yakupov? You should read some Latvian sports forums/websites after those 3 games..

Again, to be finally clear about this. I was really negative about Indrasis in beginning of the season, because i could see how people already started to think that "new start was born at WC" and now he will just tear the everything apart. I was careful about this, because in my mind 1 tournament is not a factor to make a conclusion about a player. (Again, if we wanna talk about "nobody`s". Bukarts had pretty solid 10/11 year with national team, 3 goals at WC, and 8pts in 9 games with team in total with friendly matches, and he was a year younger then Indrasis, when he scored 5pts at WC.) And where is Bukarts now?

I said that at the start of the season, that he is on the one level with other guys. Now i can see that he can product really good numbers, but lacks stability, that is understandable for a young player, but still, I wanna see him more before put big hopes on him.

Well, this actually makes sense and no one could ask for more from you as you've basically admitted you were wrong/overcautious about him at the beginning of the season. Good for you.

Just two points from my side:

1) Indrašis can't compete for the rookie of the year, as only Russian citizens are entitled to win the Cherepanov award.

2) It really bothers me when I see Meija and Džeriņš listed along with Bukarts. Both Meija and especially Džeriņš (after missing nearly a season due to an injury) are decent players, luckily, they have also found great chemistry between them, yet Bukarts is a true nobody.

why do you have to bash him (Bukarts) ? he has played 5 games this year, avaraging 8:54 time on ice. i dont think he can play 4th line, so given an oportunity he could still break out. and dont forget, he`s always been a competitor for our National Team..

Checked the roster of our NT for the upcoming friendlies with Russian B squad, and it was weird to acknowledge that NT is greatly superior than DR at all positions.

Of course, here's a direct one. It appears that Dārziņš and M.Rēdlihs are recovering from injuries. That does weaken our F a lot.

Has hard time finding a club, has some offers, but apparently everything depends on when the lockout ends.

Cipulis joined the NT, as he wished to get some game practice.

Galviņš will play. Still, the team is without Carle and K.Rēdlihs, so I guess tomorrow 1993-born Mārtiņš Porejs will enjoy his KHL debut.
