Borderlands is awesome. I got a little bored with it, but I'll continue it eventually.

Anyone ever have a problem with a bar tab getting overcharged? Happened to me on Saturday, kept track of every order in my Iphone and ended up getting charged for 3 drinks I didn't order. You could just go up, say whatever name had an open tab and they didn't even question it. I don't think I am ever going to leave an open tab again.

Did you dispute it? Usually if you put up a stink they'll take the drinks off.

No, I just stiffed them. I told them it was wrong but didn't really fight it. I'd have rather had the drinks off and tipped them well. I guess I should have tried to get them off, didn't think they would do it. My initial suspicion was that they were pocketing the money but after thinking about it more, it could have been other people charging my tab, not sure.

Was scouting some games in Orland Park over the weekend for a tournament. Couple teams from St. Louis there. Was watching one and in walks this monster of a man, and by monster I mean rather soft and fatty. Said man turns out to be Keith Tkachuk. Recognized him right away. Was wearing one of the teams' jackets so I'm guessing he's coaching and/or has a kid on the team. He got so big I couldn't even believe it. I know he battled his weight a bit later in his career and even failed a physical shortly before retiring on account of being so out of shape, but I was still surprised how big he got in such a short time being retired. Was still kinda cool to see him and he was being pretty friendly with anyone that came up to him to talk. Just never know who you're going to run into/see in any given weekend at these things.

Tkachuk is a cool dude. I remember there was a time where the Blues were playing in San Jose and he just decided to go to a random rink and just jumped on the ice during a rat game between some San Jose-area teams of random guys. Those guys were probably blown away that a successful NHLer hopped on the ice with them. I also remember watching a game on CSN and that his son played at the United Center. Was probably for his kid. Still really cool, Blue Liner.

Just finished the most recent episode of the Walking Dead since I worked from 7pm-7am.

Holy crap, now that's good tv.

Anybody a fanboy nerd like me and playing the episodes on x-box? Some of the best written video gaming in a long, long while.

Just bought a pair of Vibrams... SO stoked to go for a run tonight. Couldn't believe how comfortable they were when I put them on, thought they would be painfully awkward at first.

Yeah, they are perforated and have an odor shield. Only weird part is trying shoes on at a shoe store with no socks, well it was weird for me at least...

Purely for performance. I don't care what they look like if my numbers improve. That's the goal. Appearance means nothing. I don't know about you, but I care pretty passionately about my fitness goals. I'm hoping this pushes me over the edge to complete a full marathon, with a good time.

I swear, if I ever get lender figures on time instead of near the end of the day, I might legitimately die of shock. Been waiting all day for lender figures on two closings for tomorrow, one of which is in the morning, and still nothing's arrived as of 4:30. Knowing my luck, they'll get it in just before 5:00, meaning I'll need to do that before I leave despite having plans in the early evening.

****ing banks.

Just got Google's new Chromebook for $250 (shipping delayed due to Sandy). It's basically just a small, cheap laptop that only runs Google Chrome and its plugins.

I love this thing.

Solid build quality for the price, and 98% of what I need is right here. The other 2% I can get via ssh and/or screen sharing with my desktop. It weights <2.5 pounds, so it's not a problem to carry it at all. It's easy on the eyes too, which certainly helps.

With this in mind, I'm starting to think about selling my desktop computer and moving to a hosted VM service like Linode. Amazing how much of my life is online now.

No politics in ze hawks lounge.

Also Ray, it was purely meant in jest. I love my new balance running shoes, and they certainly are gaudy and goofy looking.

Oh I know, I didn't take it personally. And I agree, they are goofy as hell looking, I don't think any sane person could argue otherwise... I just can't believe how comfortable they are. I would wear those all day everyday if I could.

I will say, that damn... those shoes were awesome to run in. Yesterday I just did some sprint training, and damn, my calves have never hurt after a run before... but are killing me today like I have never ran or done a leg workout before. Had always read that these shoes will do that to you, but didn't believe it since my legs are in pretty killer shape already.... but damn was I wrong.

Another slow day at work, another completely unproductive day thanks to not a single bank being able to get lender figures to my office.

I can already tell, seven closings on Friday as of right now, and dollars to donuts I might get one lender figure before noon on Thursday....
