The Dallas Diaspora: Seeking Scattered Stars
Did you know that in other countries they play professional hockey? It's true. Some of our players have even decided to take advantage of this fact!
Tom Wandell and faceoffs: the beginning of a beautiful relationship?
Will Stephane Robidas play all of the minutes?
Does Germany have appropriately sized sauna towels?
These questions and more to be answered within.

Never disappointed with your thread titles.
And who all do we have over there? Benn, Jagr, Wandell, Robi, and Larsen's it, right?

Finnish to English translation on Google was rough:
http://www.satakunnankansa.fi/Kiekko...a+vastaan.html
Sounds like Larsen was a last second scratch before today's game, but I don't think it says why.

I had some Dragonball Z flashbacks there for a second.
Personally I would have gone to Switzerland, but maybe all the other players got the good spots.

So are we still not sure what's wrong with Larsen?
It seems like there's a massive break in the Finnish schedule for some reason over the next little while so we may not have an answer until then.
edit: or not. I can't read these Finnish sites, they make my head hurt with their backwards dates and whatnot.

How massive? Like a week or ten days?
If so, it's customary for European leagues to break during major tournaments - usually Euro-centric tournaments - to allow players to leave without missing 10% of their season schedule (don't want to lose 5 games of a 50-game schedule, ya know?).
Upcoming now, I believe, is the Karjala Tournament - a four-nation tournament.

I know this is just silly American rhetoric but, don't we all love vacations?

Gaglardi was just on the ticket. He said that he hasn't been very close to the negotiations. Talked about a bunch of dumb Norm hockey points. Best part of the segment was the minute he spent confirming new jerseys.

I refuse to believe he's one of the owners that actually wants this thing to be happening despite that "all 30 owners are for it" bs the NHL tried to put out.

Bit off topic but Friedman seemed very sure of himself when naming hard liners, and he's a guy I have a hard time doubting. That being said Gaglardi doing some minor PR on local radio seems to be a calculated appearance to remind everyone the Stars still exist, maybe in preparation for the start of the season.

Philip Larsen currently has 4G 4A in 14 games and a +8 statistics.
He leads Lukko in playing time basically every match. Has an average of almost 26 min.
The three danes have +8 (Larsen), +8 (Bødker), +7 (Nielsen) statistics whereas only three other players on the team are in plus (+4, +2, +1), with 18 players in minus (3 on -7 as the worst).
So he is getting lots of responsibility and also PP time.
The break in SM-liiga was because of the NT matches (Czech, Finland, Russia, Sweden - ranking order of that tournament).

Philip Larsen
Hello Dallas,
A little update on
Larry who is playing for Lukko of the Finish SM liiga during the lockout.
He is part of the 1st defensive pairing, and also on line with Boedker of the Coyotes and Frans Nielsen of the Islanders.
When they joined Lukko, they were last, but have since made a steady climb.
All three danes are plus players..
Larsen has 5G and 5A and is +8 in 17gp.
http://www.iltalehti.fi/iltvsmliiga/...57300_v8.shtml
Larsen has the last goal, a good one too...
http://www.raumanlukko.fi/media/vide...ns-maalikooste
Larsen also has the last goal here, a nice EN.
Il update this when needed.. And if people want to see more goals, let me know

Penguins fan here, coming in peace...
It has not yet been confirmed by the club, but Norways biggest newspaper reports that Eric Nystrom has signed to play with Stavanger Oilers the reigning champion of Norway.
http://www.vg.no/sport/ishockey/arti...artid=10056042
The headline actually says NHL-star ready for Stavanger Oilers, just keep in mind that all NHL-players are stars to us...

Huh, that's different. Are there other NHL players playing in Norway? I haven't heard of any.
