#CBA As of 9:25 p.m. ET, talks between NHL/NHLPA still ongoing. Interpret that as you wish...

I don't know about you guys, but I'd find it quite humorous if they hammered out an agreement in the middle of the night after all the BS and posturing.

It would hilarious. Especially on election night when the entire nation's focus is elsewhere.

Well I hope they didn't sit there and discuss politics for seven hours.

Keep everything under wraps.

We likely won't have hockey til December, so as long as these negotiations keep going well its a good sign.

Confirmation tonight that discussion about making contracted players "whole" was on the periphery during the 7 plus hour CBA session.

It is expected the "Make Whole" conversation/negotiation will be a key aspect of Wednesday's meeting.

Though the NHL has canceled all games through November, it is believed the possibility remains a season of up to 70 games could start on Black Friday with the originally scheduled NBC broadcast of the Rangers at Boston if the length of yesterday’s meeting is indeed a signal of meaningful progress.

People familiar with the nature of the talks but not authorized to speak publicly said progress had been made, but both sides declined to describe specifics of the sessions, which were attended by top executives of both sides as well as 13 players and several owners.

Black Friday is 2 weeks from this Friday. They have a 10 day training camp. A CBA needs to be done by this weekend. The players are scattered all over the world. Most of the players are still in North America. Getting those guys back from Europe will take a few days.

Make Whole expected to be main focus today. How the owners intend on covering some or all is unclear. Huge issue. Big mystery.

Daly and Fehr did discuss the "make whole" when they met in Chicago last Saturday. No proposal was made.

Make Whole is tricky. Will be much debate among owners. Will it be covered by the league or individual owners? Much to discuss and decide

I was out of the loop for a couple days.

Has the Winter Classic officially been cancelled?

I'd like to see them get an agreement in place in time to keep that. Even if it kicks off the season.
