I enjoy reading the overreactions of both sides of this election after the Obama call.

I'm a little unnerved with how close the Same-Sex Marriage vote is right now... I thought this was 2012.

I'm a little unnerved about HOW AMAZING HALO 4 CAMPAIGN WAS

Bah gawd the cutscenes were absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Insanely detailed and life like. Master Chief looks like he's actually real.

Loved the story. Recommend it to everyone. They have summaries in the first mission of the rest of the games, through the opening cutscene and a "hidden" console right next to where you start the game. Loved it.

And with that, I'm going to bed. an hour and a half after I usually do. thank you, Halo. Hopefully I can get some time to play multi and spartan ops tomorrow.

I'd share my thoughts on that, but we aren't allowed to discuss it here. And I tend to avoid discussing politics with friends....never ends well. But I agree.

Meanwhile, Colorado voted for drugs. Lucky dogs! Cue the mile-high city jokes.

This is pretty crazy.

So... Uhh... The U.S. now has 51 states? (pending approval by Congress)

Win or lose, I just hate when commonwealths are called states.

Didn't you hear? We took over Canada. It's a rather large state, but it's more like an attic.

I'm not certain, but I wouldn't imagine Statehood would be granted by a simple majority. I should go look up the specifics, but I'm too lazy right now, and too busy cursing St. Louis County for not returning any results yet. How can zero precincts in Duluth report by this point?

Oh sweet, no edit button...

Anyway, I looked a bit up. The Puerto Rico vote was the second of a two stage vote to essentially appeal for statehood. If I'm understanding it correctly, I believe that if that vote passes, the Puerto Rican local government will write a constitution and appeal to the US Congress for admission to the union.

I've probably missed a whole bunch of very important factors.

this is the fourth or fifth time they've voted on it, isn't it? from what i read they want more aid to cover their 17% unemployment rate...and they realized they can't make it on their own in the world as an independent entity.
why not statehood though? there are 25% more PRs living on the continent than there are on the island. I served in the army with more than a few. Samoa ever going to join the party?

From the little bit I was looking up on the process last night, I believe it's still a requirement to have a population of 60,000. American Samoa only has 55,000 people as of 2010. The US Virgin Islands meet the population minimum, but considering their tourist driven economy, I would be surprised if there were ever any momentum there to become a state.

Surprise, surprise...we're about to lose our "safety bonus" that we have no control over. Keep getting daily reminders about OSHA reportable incidents that didn't occur in our office and has nothing to do with our business.
