Incredibly true, and clearly the other side of the coin. A side that I had never even considered to be honest.

I don't either.

But whether it's legal or not, it's not going to stop people from smoking weed.

If it's legal, you'll see people smoking it more in the open depending any restrictions.

At the same time, I kinda don't care. I just don't want to smell it haha

They already have problems with the harder stuff.

I think if they make that junk legal, we'll have cartels all over America.

You take me as an idiot. Assuming you light up. Look at this: alcohol is legal and there are under age cases as well as dwi and just abusers. You mean to tell me that pot would never be abused? That it'd never be used by underagers assuming there is an age restriction similar to alcohol and tobacco? The only way I support it legalized is if it gets taxed the hell out of and makes the country some money. Plus, it smells like dead skunk and car exhaust.

In Washington and Colorado it is legal to possess up to one ounce, it is not legal to use in public. That to me is reasonable.

I believe it to be reasonable that if someone wants to purchase marijuana and use it in their home they should be able to do so.

Lets all remember you're not supposed to drink in public either.

Look at it this way, the war on drugs has failed. Prohibition is an exercise in failure. It doesn't work.

The government could not only be saving this money here, but they could make more money hand over fist with marijuana legalized.

People use weed anyway. Making it legal would, IMO, not change how many people use it. Spending tax dollars on police chasing down people who posess it is stupid. Now-do I think that drugs like cocaine and heroin should be legal? Absolutely not. Those are very deadly. Just one thing: do not let weed be smoked on the street. It smells like skunk mixed with burning rubber or something.

I think your completely wrong. I think the MJ use would skyrocket. People who were afraid of using it since it was illegal will use it, people will smoke it all the time with no fear, more idiots will go behind the wheel high.

I just feel like in my school, even though I've never tried any drugs, people just talk about using like it like its no big deal. Last year, someone actually smoked it on the bus. Shows you how much some people care about getting caught. There's cameras there!

And driving while high is significantly "better" than drunk driving. That's the real problem around drugs.

People who are gonna abuse smoking ganja are going to abuse it no matter the legality of it. I see no harm in letting people who use it with restraint not have their lives ruined for smoking it.

The focus needs to be on the people who DO abuse it. Get them psychological help so that their only respite in life isn't marijuana.

Alcohol abuse creates extremely violent, horribly addicted people that can easily drink themselves to death. Marijuana "abuse" does no such thing. Lets not compare alcohol abuse to something that is medically impossible to overdose on.

Would you like me to dig up statistics on alcohol related fatalities?

The moron who gets behind the wheel high is the same moron who will drive drunk.

Well it could kill you, but you would have to smoke like 1,000 joints. Better get rollin'.

And go find me a news story about the stoner who beats his wife. Oh wait, it's never the stoner..

What does that change? It was practically legal here already.

1. People are gonna think I'm going there for marijuana (because everyone already thinks I look like a stoner -_-)

2. People will be going there for that reason, and I have no desire to attend a school that most people there are going to to get high

There are thousands of colleges in the U.S.

You're going to have a contingent at almost all of them that is there to just party. What state you're going to school in is largely irrelevant.

You have to be 21 to possess it legally, most college students are under 21.

Right, because there's not a ton of marijuana use at every single school already.

No.

Weed can be abused, but not to the degree of alcohol.

I really don't see why marijuana should be illegal in the first place, but of course I'm biased.

Wow, was not expecting this much snow on LI from this nor'easter. LIRR completely shut down.

Looks like I brought Buffalo weather home with me, I'll take the heat for this one. Sorry, folks.

Both of these things already happen. It won't depreciate the value of your degree.

Let's start with this, what school do you plan on attending if you go to Colorado?
