Russia: Arkhipov ...Had 1g, 1a vs. Khaz.

Marty Erat had 2g, 2a in a 5-4 win vs. Slovenia. Should be a big tournament for Erat, being that he appears to be one of the biggest weapons on Czech.

1A for Suter in a 3-0 win over Denmark.

You missed this one:

Finland: Mikko Lehtonen 2001, 9th, 271st

He has 1 goal 2 assists after 2 games. He's been really solid so far. Seems to get lot PP time where he can use his good shot.

Denis Kulyash is still owned by the preds right?

I haven't studyied him much in the WCH. But man, can this dude shot. He have scored with two BOMBS already this tournament. We aren't talking heavy shots here, they are the two hardest shots I've seen all year. Both goalies had clear view and Kulyash where positioned on the blue line, the only reactions they made where away from the puck.

I am not saying that its a exact science to judge how hard a shot is watching it on TV. But from the looks of it, it looked like Al McInnis out there. Goalies are used to a certain velocity, when someone shots allot harder then that goalies reacts strange, and these two defenitly did that. Not like scoring on a goalie with clear view from all the way by the boards on the blueline aren't impressive enough. How often do you see that, once or twice per year. He did it twice in 4 games.

He still is. It's players like this that Poile would be smart to take a gamble on and offer a 1 year deal with nice incentives to head over. Even though there likely isn't a spot for him on the roster, a strong training camp or preseason and he could become valuable another NHL team.

Martin Erat has some problems with groin but he will play tonight against CAN

Marek Zidlicky announced that he want play in Riga too. He asked about it Poile but with no result for now .... Who know what happened but personally I think according to Zids new contract and with respect to his shoulder he will stay at home

IN Czech line-up is also Zbynek Irgl our prospect. Good shooter, skill player like Erat

On Thursday I watched the last half of the Canada verses Latvia game and Darzins didn;t look out of place at all. It was a 11-0 blow out for Canada and I thought Lauris played very good for such a jump from junior to play against mostly NHL players. Hopefully the Preds sign him before June 1st.

The Czechs downed the Canucks 6-4 with 4 different Predators (or Preds property) getting goals. Hamhuis had a goal and four shots in a losing effort. Erat had a goal and four shots as well. Petr Hubacek had a goal on 3 shots, and Zbynek Irgl had a goal and an assist.

Jukka Hentunen had a goal and an assist in Finlands win over Norway, and Richard Stehlik made an appearance for the Slovaks in their 5-2 domination of the Swedes.

Oh and dynamite Denis Arkhipov had a goal and an assist in Russia's 6-3 win over the Swiss.

Sounds like Arkhipov might be the answer to our centerman needs...

Alex Auld had a terrible game for Team Canada at the World Championship, and today they are going to start Marc Denis of Columbus.

What I find interesting is the coach of Canada was interviewed this morning on XM radio and when discussing his goalie situation, he only discussed Auld and Denis and that he felt he had "2 good goalies" and he wanted to give Denis a chance today......no mention of Chris Mason.

Maybe Mason isn't as a valuable commodity as he thinks he may be on the open market.....you'd think that he would be in the mix with the likes of Denis and Auld, but not even a mention......hmmmmm.

Any chance to see Darzins sign for Nashville? As a NT debutant he did extremely well, scored 2 goals and was one of the most active forwards on our squad. If im not wrong, he must sign till 1st June or hes a free agent.

Erat Article
http://live82.ihwc.net/english/teams...m=CZE&aId=2423

"Easily noticeable on the ice with his number 91, Erat is also a player that likes to carry the puck up the ice, and he can dazzle with skill and unexpected moves. In the game versus the USA, he undressed American defenseman Ryan Suter with a nice inside-out move, but couldn't score as he raced in alone on goaltender Jason Bacashihua. He finished that game with one assist."
