That play he made to create that short-handed chance was pure hockey smarts.

Hudon is reallllllly good! I've been holding back from getting too excited about him, but man, he is so smart and skilled. What a steal!

Yeah, he'll need to improve his shot for the Pro level, but I've not seen him have a bad shift yet, every time I watch him.

I told you you'd all be coming around on Hudon. "Token undersized French guy" indeed!

I am just stunned at how good his defensive game can be. Thought he was a total one-dimensional guy when we picked him.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
This Huberdeau-Danault-Hudon line came to play tonite. Fans in FLA, CHI and MTL with much to look forward to...one day.

Hudon should be getting power play time, at least the second unit.

The thing I like the most about him is his smarts. He's not the biggest or most skilled, but he's extremely smart. You can't teach what he has, and I'd pick a guy like that in the 5th (or in the 2nd, see our mock draft.....) any time.

Seriously, he reads the play so well. He's a very dangerous player. Want to see them give him a chance on the powerplay.

Yup! That awareness is special. He can totally make you believe he's going one way and in a split second, he's two steps the other way. Offensively AND defensively, that's why he intercepts so many passes.

North Dakota update:

As for the lineup, don’t expect wholesale changes. Hakstol said he was fairly pleased with the units. He liked what Danny Kristo did on his off wing. Although the top line didn’t dominate the scoreboard Saturday night, Hakstol pointed out that they had 16 shots on goal, which was about half of the team’s shots.
He also said they will probably keep Mark MacMillan at center. MacMillan played left wing for most of last season and he’s played both center and wing this year. Hakstol said MacMillan’s two best games this season have come while playing center.

Why trading up to get Yakupov when you can have Hudon in the 5th round?!?

The mid-round forward picks the Habs made this year- Bozon, Vail and Hudon are all really interesting prospects in their own ways. Hudon has so much upside.

I don't think Yakupov wants any part of Hudon no matter if it's the 12th round.

So true. It's like they don't even try to hide their bias in Tdot.

Loved that hip-check by the Russian player, just not how small Hudon looked next to him. Goal! 4-1 QMJHL.

That was a beautiful hipcheck by Mironov, but was that elbow at Hudon for no reason really necessary?
