Welcome Savey to the fam. Two quick questions for you...1) In 2004, where you willing to lose a full season to get what you guys wanted or do you regret taking that long to get a deal done? 2) do you think there is a chance Saku ends his career in a hab jersey? (You should ask him the question , we want him back!)
Reading through this thread made me randomly remember Brian Savage doing what must of been his first interview in french on TV, he was talking about how good things were going on his line (was Koivu and someone else, maybe Recchi?) and he got through one sentence in french before he started throwing in english words everywhere I remember being shocked when he busted out the french though
Loving the fact that you're taking the time to post. You and Steve Shutt are my two favorite Habs of all time. Got a few questions I hope you don't mind answering:
1) How did end up playing for Miami University (Ohio) if you're from Sudbury? Was the OHL not an option?
2) Tell us a bit about your rookie season (94-95). Who were your line-mates? Did you have jitters? Was it tough to earn a spot?
3) Did you go to the NHL draft in 1991? Were you disappointed to go 171st overall in the 8th round? Did that end up motivating you to play harder and prove you belonged?
Hello Mr. Savage, welcome to our nice lil' cozy board, I hope you will like it here and enjoy our bipolar fanbase when the NHL season will restart.
No hyperboles, by the way. We are truly bipolar, sometimes going from all the ranges of emotion in 5 minutes. But again, THAT'S HOCKEY!!
Speaking of watching a game, when you do watch a professional one, do you feel you pay more attention to some specifics since you've actually been there, done that?
I moved outside of the country from 97 to 2003 where I had to wake up at 3 AM to watch you and Saku play. Obviously Saku is my favorite player of all time for everything he represented.
Just a question though, what's the reason that made you settle in Phoenix more particularly?
Welcome Mr. Savage! This is really neat! I met you once before, years ago, can't quite put my finger where, though.
I was wondering, how close was Shane Doan to coming to Montreal, if at all? How do you feel about convincing Coyotes brass that they should offer Doan to Montreal for Gomez??
Wow as if! As a habs fan and a sudbury native I was a big Brian Savage fan. I'll always remember the first hat trick ever made in the bell center, I was four back then and I always felt like that's the moment that got me hooked on hockey.
