Pretty much.

Edit: I'm not too knowledgeable about College Football, but I have noticed that USC QB's aren't particularly good when it comes to NFL translation. Unless I'm missing someone, it seems like the most successful guy they've had is Carson Palmer.

USC cares more about their quarterbacks being stud muffins than great QBs.

Seriously, they don't recruit ugly QBs.

Except for that kid they sent packing to Richmond.

They have inflated numbers due to playing with talented backs and recievers. Matt Leinart played with outrageously talented wideouts and behind a stud line. Same for Sanchez. It masks their glaring weaknesses.

I'm no longer familiar with the concept of losing multiple games.

Even my Colts have a chance given their remaining 10 games and a Week 17 that could have Texans resting up.
Thanks for the perspective I admit it was weird seeing all those teams in 3 and 3 throughout the league at that point.

Maybe there's a chance yet

Have you seen KC play? They pretty much won by accident.

Jacksonville lost 2 games in OT, kept it respectable vs. Green Bay (9) and even beat a current playoff team in their own building (Indianapolis). KC has never led in regulation.

Jacksonville should get #2 though.

Carolina dealt their chances a blow by unexpectedly winning on the road. The game between them and the Chiefs will be like an anti-Super Bowl. The two worst teams in each conference. The loser has a good shot at 1st overall.

I think Barkley is more like Palmer than he is like Sanchez or Leinart. No sure way of predicting NFL failure or success but Barkley looks like he's got "at least good NFL quarterback" written all over him. And USC's talent advantage as a team over the competition the last two years has been nowhere near what it was in the heyday of Leinart.

I was all set and hoping for my Jags to take Geno, but now, past two weeks Blaine has shown very good improvement. If he can keep it up till the end of year, I think I might give him one more shot and lean towards Jarvis Jones and fix the defense.

Carolina was never in contention for the #1 pick. They are far and away a better team than KC (they almost/should have beaten Atlanta, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago) and will slaughter them in December. They've also got Oakland at home, Atlanta at home, and Tampa at home. They should win at least 2 of those. Philadelphia on the road on Monday night is looking more winnable, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat Denver and John Fox in Charlotte this weekend. The players still have a lot of pride. The only ones I can't really see them winning are @San Diego and @New Orleans.

I still say they finish with about 5 wins. That won't be bad enough for a top 5 pick.

The same was written on Sanchez and Leinart. Barkley has similar flaws to the both of them that breed in USC's QB development that has carried through Carroll's departure.

If the Jaguars do take a QB, I hope to hell it's Geno or Klein. Matt Barkley is a big Do Not Want

Klein is like a 4th or 5th round pick. He's essentially Tebow without the enormous following/hype.

Although he's a slightly better passer than Tebow.

You want someone who can't beat decent (TCU/TTech) or Good (K State) defenses?. The safest bet regarding QB out of this class is Tyler Wilson (Arkansas).

Barkley too low at 16th, it's not like he'll automatically be a bust like Leinart and Sanchez just because he plays in USC.
