Hmm that highlight real showed some pretty good hockey sense and vision. That takeaway with the pull back saucer for the tap in was perfectly done. A project player with good sense who hits a growth spurt after being drafted? He could be a bit intriguing, especially to see if he can keep improving and play even better with some of the other top prospects.
Subway series tonight and the 12th should be a very fun watch to see his play as well as some top prospects. I have never even considered the Pouliot comparison in him, this is more like a Koivu or Brodin physicallity where he prefers to use his stick and rely on positioning to win him body battles. Still along way to go for him but as he gets more comfortable as a complete player/scorer he could have an opportunity with the Wild someday I think.
Oh my God, he looks so similar I can't unsee it! Good catch. That lanky body with the hunched over skating stance, using his reach to keep the puck far away, relying on his hands and reach (for better or worse), always trying to make the fancy play.
Granted if you can pull that off while giving 100%, that's huge. See Malkin and Jagr.

One of Pouliot's problems, which was a sore issue for the old regime's "development" *snicker* guys is that he wouldn't apply any of the coaching he received.
Graovac, on the other hand, seems to be the opposite, even if he isn't as naturally skilled as Pouliot.
I absolutely disagree. Perry plays a skilled game that rarely gets too physical. He has super soft hands, is tall, skinny, and a good skater, and knows where to be to score. He is NOT a physical forward.
Yea he is. And aggressive. Perry averages over a penalty every other game. Add up Tyler's junior career and you still don't reach Perry's last 5 years. Perry is physical. Graovac is not.

Taking stupid penalties, which he was notorious for in both juniors and at the NHL level is different than taking mean, physical penalties in the NHL. Perry is not a physical player, Graovac is not either. Both will take a body when they must, but do not go out of their way to do so. FYI, I am not saying Grav=Perry at the NHL level.
