So they released a new schedule with anticipation of when the NHL season will start?
there was a rangers game that night and msg scheduled a concert which means that msg knows that there won't be a rangers game that night, either because there is no hockey or because the schedule has been revised.
"@DougMaclean: The Board of Governors were sent a memo last nite from bettman saying if no traction today ,talks could breakdown. Obviously traction today."
How much longer could they possibly wait? And what will be said that hasnt been already? This is it.
Apparently you have never been involved in a labor negotition (especially one with billions on the line). No need to rush just let the 2 sides sit down and keep talking until they get it right. If it gets rushed through for the sake of saving a few games and there are flaws in the agreement then what is the use? The future of the league is at stake so if we have to wait a few weeks to get it right lets wait.

You dont need to give a (very poor) lecture on the art of the negotiation. The season is a ticking time bomb that doesnt make this a generic labor negotiation. Your answer is outdated by a good 6 weeks.

haha I just came to post this. My buddy works there texted me and is like "how the F is this a secret site"?
the owners are approaching their "drop-dead date".

yeah that's pretty much total garbage. Not what you're saying, but that "talks could break down". The owners, if no one else would generate traction due to their imminent "drop-dead date".

Shocking, Mr. Negativity is back with his 2 cents.

hahahaha dude you don't get it. I've been reading this site daily for 6 years. It's part of my routine. That doesn't mean I don't see the bigger picture.

So you weren't here for the last lockout then. And regardless of being here or not, you must not have understood the way the last one went. Because if you did then you wouldn't be writing off these negotiations, ready for no season at all; because last lockout the dialogue was worse. Not only that but the game itself has generated more revenue each year since the last one. Granted not every team is profitable but that is why they are redoing the cba. And not only that Bettman worked for Stern and the NBA for a number of years. These lockout talks have similarities to the NBA's last year. The NBA had a season.
