If I was Winnipeg I wouldn't trade Bogosian for an unproven Yakupov. Maybe when he gets a few good seasons under his belt, but by that time he's most likely not available.
Plus wingers are probably the least valuable part to a team. #1C, #1D, #1Goalie are all more important then a #1 winger.

I'm not saying I'd do the deal. If he's willing, I want to see Bogosian stay in Winnipeg for long time. But as a few people have stated, it would be an opportunity that deserves serious consideration.
No it doesn't. Winnipeg is going to be a Defense first team, and our Defense is looking pretty good for seasons to come. Our bottom pairing needs upgrading and we can use another shutdown/physical guy...unless Buff plays every game like he did against Columbus.

Bogo is our best all around Defenseman. Kid can do it all...so I would be loathe to drop him now. Even for a possible 50g winger.

Either way we could be kicking ourselves, but our GM has a vision for this team...and I think it best to stick to it.

And by the time the lockout ends, that'll be??? He's still has RFa status for a few years too....

Simmonds is decent but @ $4M? Jury is still out on Reid.

IMO, the day Chevy says his 22 year old stud is up for grabs is the day you'll see about a dozen teams come forward with a top line young forward..... Someone else on this thread said Yakupov. That's probably along the lines of what it will take to make the Jets listen. Everyone in the organization loves him right up to the owners who have arranged hunting trips for him and his family, backstage passes to country stars passing through the city, pretty much anything they can think of to keep a 22 year old millionaire excited about his employers!!

Yea Benji Zach and Winnipeg are a match made in heaven and he would be the last player moved from our organization IMHO so I think it is hard to assess a real value given that he is as close to untouchable as Winnipeg has. Even past his talent in early July Chipman called up Zach and asked him if he could come to town to do some photos for promotional material and Zach said "when do you need me there"? Not talk to my agent, or what's in it for me, or maybe, just when do you need me???

loyal to a fault, player friendly, zero ego owner please meet a down to earth, small town boy who has zero ego and thrives on loyalty.

love Bogo would give up almost anything on the Canucks to get him but the few pieces I wouldn't give up are the pieces it would take unfortunately (pieces being Kesler or Edler since obviously Sedins won't be)

Seriously, im an expert in hockey and Bogosian doenst impress me.Is an ok hnler with upside so is value is not of the chart. He is vastly overated in this board.Sure is value good but a first line foward for him is a travesty.

I feel you bro. But you can't expect laymen to understand us experts while discussing matters like these. I consider myself an expert on pretty much everything, and yet no one ever listens to me...

Vastly over rated you say.
You should read some posts from a year or so ago with people calling him a bust

Bogosian - Karlsson
Cowen - Gonchar
Methot - Phillips

Bogo and Karlsson would be a dominate force.

I know there are lots of left left pairings in the NHL but I have seen fewer right right parings. That would be a dominating tandem though and I can see as an Ottawa fan why you would want to make the move
