Terrible colors, but this is a better design than what they have:

Yeah, I saw those things at Target the other day for 45 bucks (cheap Bears jerseys). They also had a ****ing ******** of Minnesota Wild winter wear, lol. I told my brother in law we need to hit that up after it goes on clearance.

Kings should wear that one. It's an improvement.

For the Kings jersey, I agree. It follows a couple of hockey-design truisms that MUST be in the design to be a complete "hockey jersey":

1. wide bottom horizontal stripes (and no goofy angles or swooshes either)
2. no piping (absolutely NONE! - anywhere!)

Historic (i.e. pre-RBK) NHL jersey design proves this to be the case.

I was going to get one of these jerseys until I realized the logo and numbers are just iron-on patches. For $100+...? RBK! uh, no.

Many places and sites sell current jerseys with actual numbers stitched on.

They look like "higher-end" practice jerseys

They look like those pink female jerseys they sell where they take a small pink jersey and slap a white logo on it. Only these ones aren't pink. They keep the actual team colors.

I'm not telling other people how to spend their money. I'm just saying that jerseys are an incredibly frivolous item as it is, and it's not something you necessarily would need to buy in large quantities. To me the alleged <100 dollar difference between a 'cheap' jersey and an 'expensive' one, for a one-time throw-away-your-money cost is negligible. That kind of price differential can be made up by not going out for a single weekend. I don't think it really reaches cat food eating territory for most people. If you bought a jersey every five years, that's less than 20 dollars a year in difference.

If the extra $60 is going to result in you eating cat food, buying any hockey jersey is an incredibly poor financial decision.

Don't worry, people need to be reassured they're the better fan from the products they buy.

My question at that would be why bother with one that anybody can tell its fake at even a quick glance when you can order a fake online for less money that is closer to the real thing anyways? If you take the time to look some of them are better quality and much closer looking then the cheap rebock ones for half the price.

I would never order a jersey from the NHL shop

But I do find it funny how people think they're bigger fans because they buy more expensive jerseys

I dunno, with this lockout, maybe we SHOULD buy fake jerseys as a form of protest.

Just to point something out...maybe these aren't the "cheap" versions considering they have more than just the SCF teams included. Maybe it's just a different looking jersey that the NHL has produced. Almost like the alternates and throwbacks that they sell to fans. Just another jersey option for people to buy and to try and stand out from the crowd.

IE: St. Patty's day jerseys

vs

Call me crazy but I think the "cheap" version actually is a nicer design than the actual one (of course the materials are not up to snuff based on the look).

The simpler black/white/silver is better without all the "jersey noise" IMO.
