MV has it right. The team boasts a whole lot of "on paper" talent, and "in theory" dominance. Calgary's only notables on the farm team are Baertschi and Horak. But that team's record is what ours should look like right now.
Time to start being a team. We've seen the big 4 putting up points, but they need to try and use this game as an opportunity to show that they can be great players. They have enough drive and skill to make the players on their lines perform. I'm looking at Nuge to get Pitlick kickstarted, and Eberle to spark Lander. Hopefully some of Hall's drive will rub off on MPS.
I would like nothing more than to see this team finally live up to its potential by destroying Calgary's farm team in back to back games this weekend. Come on guys. Show that there are 3 and perhaps 4 all star NHL players on this team.
Eric Hunter is the dude they signed. Former Golden Bear.
I like the addition of Henry, OKC could still use another vet IMO. Kevin Montgomery (would he leave Norway)? Even old Bryan Helmer would be a help. Beyond Schultz, Fedun, and Teubert i don't think the defense has been up to par. Marincin has had some real flashes, but he's still raw. Davidson looked solid when played but not top 4 worthy. Ringwald has been poor IMO and with Zahn it's too early to tell.
IMO Fedun has been worse than Marincin. Davidson was hit/miss but had a really good game in his last game. Zahn has been better than Planet and Ringwald at least, he's been pretty solid for the most part.

IMO in theory we should be a match-up nightmare. Eberle and Harski bring skill and size/strength, Hall and Paajarvi brings speed, speed, and more speed, and RNH is always dangerous out there.
One more thing, we are going to try for these threads. Instead of having 20 posters asking for free links and another 40 complaining about the feed, I'd ask that anyone that comes in just before the game starts or after it has started to quickly scroll through the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pages of the thread for a link instead of cluttering the thread with "dude do you have a feed?". And let's try to cut down on the trashing of the Neulion feed, we know that it sucks and seeing as this is the 11th Barons game of the year, I'm pretty sure that most of us diehards will have at least watched some of a Barons game this year so it really shouldn't be a shock to the system when they are showing a friggin' mascot while a highlight reel goal is scored
You forgot about the beached wale announcer and his cheer leaders or the Baron's commentators. The things we do and have to put up with to get our hockey fix.
IMO this game will come down to special teams, they have a better PP and PK than us so far (we are 29th in the league on the PK, so who isn't better than us there?). I'm thinking that the Hall-Vande Velde-Paajarvi line won't have much traction because Hall is still working his way in and the other two have been struggling. It'll be an interesting game for sure.

I agree. I'm looking for a Chicago Blackhawks type beatdown this weekend.
My daughter and son-in-law live out there and will be at the game, along with a few friends (Oilers' fans). I expect there will be many Oilers' fans at the game. I believe tomorrow's game is televised here??

Seeing as they average about 3500/game, i'm thinking that the other 3500+ might be Oilers fans. It should be great atmosphere tonight.
Had plans to drive to abbotsford this weekend and watch both games but my buddy bailed on me before we got tickets. Pretty bummed about it. Especially after hearing about $2 beer
I havent been following the team at all but that record is atrocious. They are playing like the oilers but its a lesser league.
To those who are actively following AHL is it a case of team is better then record and got screwed in some ot's or something or are they playing like crap?

Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins are the only forwards that are producing (mostly PP, not so much 5-on-5) with honourable mention going to Harti. That said, Schultz is the only player that is truly excelling.
Over the first six, seven games the Barons outchanced their opposition but now they're starting to yield more than they generate. Hopefully, Hall can turn that tide once he gets going.
