PROVIDENCE -- Coming off their best game of the season -- a 3-0 win over St. John's last Sunday -- the Providence Bruins are going with the same lineup tonight against Albany at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
"Sometimes in this league you have to rotate people in and out for development but I thought that was as fine a game as we've played on the back end all year, defensemen one through six,'' coach Bruce Cassidy said after the morning skate today.
"I don't want to send the wrong message. We've got three (games) in three (days), so that was the reasoning behind it.''
As expected, Niklas Svedberg, who posted his first AHL shutout on Sunday, will start in goal.
Asked whether Mike Hutchinson would get a start this weekend, Cassidy replied, "I'm going to worry about one game at a time. When you play three in three . . . the guy that's going better tends to get two out of three, but you never know in this game.
"Hutch had a tough month. Doesn't mean he's going to have a tough year or another tough month, but he's going to have to play his way out of it. As long as Svedberg's going good, he'll probably get the lion's share of the starts. That's just the way it is.''
Jared Knight (hamstring) and Trent Whitfield (upper body) won't play this weekend. Knight was winded after a 20-minute skate, but said he felt good, though his hamstring was a bit tight.
David Warsofsky and Ryan Button are healthy scratches.
Matt Bartkowski wore a full shield this morning after taking a puck in the lip a couple of days ago.
