Best overage late round draft picks or undrafted players

I'm looking for some names of guys that are doing well and have a shot at the nhl that were either undrafted, or were 5th-7th round picks. Any league works.

Seth Griffith was a fifth rounder a year after his draft year. If they don't have to of been passed over in a draft and could be taken in their actual draft year then Charles Hudon and Cody Payne are fifth rounders from 2012 looking good. The top undrafted guy right now has to be JC Lipon leading the CHL in scoring as a 19 year old. 2011 seventh rounder Tyler Graovac is 6'4" and excelling offensively with over a goal per game this year in the OHL.

Grand Rapids signed Chad Billins out of college and he's been great to start his pro career. Undrafted, overaged and yet without a NHL contract. Plays on the first pair, first PP and has 11p in 11 games. Small guy with great puck moving skills.

Brendan Kichton. He was an overager 5th rounder in 2011 and has been playing at a beast level since then. He should be in the AHL right now but with the lockout the roster is just too full. Hopefully if the season is salvaged it will clear some room for him in Bridgeport.

Carl Gunnarsson was 21 years old when he was drafted in the 7th round I think

Brendan Gallagher was Montreal's 5th rounder in 2010 and he's doing pretty well in Hamilton so far, if there's a season and some injuries he might get a chance to play in the NHL this year.

And although it's really early, Hudon in the 5th round is looking great for the Habs so far.

Are you looking for established players or prospects?

From the Sharks, Jason Demers is almost assuredly a solid 2nd pairing defenseman, and he was drafted in the 7th round as an overager.

Best recent late-rounder is Freddie Hamilton in the 5th round. Tracking to be a solid 2nd-3rd line tweener, with a floor of a good third liner.

Under the old, old CBA players who went to the NCAA had to enter the draft a year later (after their freshman year). Parise, Vanek, Kesler, Stuart, etc. all the early born '84 college players from the '03 draft class would have been '02 draft picks under the last CBA.

Andrew Shaw would probably be the best example from the 2011 draft.

Mark Barberio has done well as a 6th round pick from 2008. In 2010 he was a finalist for the QMJHL best defenseman award when they made it to the Memorial Cup, and in 2012 won the AHL best defenseman award with Norfolk capturing the Calder Cup.

Frank Corrado, a 2011 5th rounder for the Canucks, has been doing pretty good and looks like he could be a solid top 4 defenseman.

He was drafted in his first draft year though... Is the OP looking for a player passed over in their first eligible year?

But Barberio is a steal for sure, he's progressed a lot since Moncton.
