I'm just wondering why there isn't a moderator for these talks?
Not to say that it would make a big deal, but with too many egos in one room, it would be easier to call BS on some stuff. It would also direct things to be on the same page/speak the same language and offer multiple options for a deal to be done.

We had already heard about the make whole offer. Not sure what the public has to do with negotiations.
Seriously, the "NHL" as in owners, as in their spin. Some people swallow everything someone tweets.

I care because I cant get to play a game I love at pro level and for my dedication to personal health and wellness, be given a gift of enough money that I could afford to get an ivy league education, my first home, new cars maybe a cottage and toys paid for in full...

It impacts my life because millionaires and billionaires bickering about 5 percent of 3 billion dollars and growing is cutting into my fav pass time come winter. After the MLB lockout I never watched again. After the last NHL lockout I caught games here and there up until 09...I have plenty of friends who were the same.

All teams have the same cap. If the cap goes up it goes up for all teams. If the cap goes down it goes down for all teams.
The cap does not affect your team's ability to garner assets any more or any less than every other team.
If you want more cap for your team then you want the players to get a higher percentage of HRR-AE, but all teams would get that increase.
As if every team can spend to the upper limit and all teams have the same cap situation.
You seem to think I give a crap about who's pockets are getting lined. All I care about is the hockey angle and the cap is a part of hockey and the strategy of building a team.

I am peeved at both, at this point more so the players. When I quit watching it was also in part to not being happy with the product the leafs were putting out there. As a consumer I was offended that they were trying to pass the leafs on me as a pro franchise. Burke messed up with Wilson, his other moves mostly have been good. Wish we still had Giguere under a system like Carlyles from the get go, a lot of our problems would already be solved.
