Figured a lot of people would be watching this game, since it features Halifax with all of their high end prospects (MacKinnon, Drouin, Frk, Fucale, etc.), and is being televised across Canada.
I'll get the discussion started, brutal hit by Ryan on Regimbald. Really scary, Regimbald went into the boards absolutely head first, probably pretty concussed, that's the kind of hit that can break necks. Not long after a nice tick tack toe goal on the PP for Halifax, MacKinnon to Drouin to Fournier.
Im no doctor but he went off the ice with his left arm kind of handing. my guess is shoulder popped or broken collarbone, ill let you know what they say though.
Agreed, they've been active and dangerous, especially on the PP. Not loving Frk's game, he's been a bit invisible/complacent out there so far.
The problem is that Frk is more of a trigger man (definitely the heaviest shot on the team, MacKinnon and Drouin included, and accurate when he's on). I don't know what it is about his linemates, but it seems like nothing gets done if Frk doesn't do most of the puck handling as well as work to find open spots when he doesn't have the puck. It's hard to sneak into openings and find clear shooting lanes if the puck is on your stick most of the time and the defense is focused on you. I liked how they tried him on the point of the powerplay in the 1st period there. Good bomb if they leave him open, and skills to distribute if forced.
I must say, though, I've been a little disappointed with the quality/sureness of his hands this season in traffic, or when given very little time to decide whether to make a move or dump it off. Something he could work on, for sure.

To me it looked like he was holding his wrist, but that may have been to just give his arm some support if it is his shoulder/collarbone. Hopefully it isn't anything major and he'll be back for the 2nd.
Yeah, that was ridiculous. Has the puck completely on a string, when he wants to he can simply walk around anyone at this level.
I also liked MacKinnon's simple deke a few minutes before that, when he was streaming down the left wing then quickly cut to the middle for a quality shot.

Yeah, obviously he is a sniper/finisher, but in the NHL there are a tonne of guys who can shoot. It'd be nice to see him contributing a little more outside of his shooting ability. Too often when I watch the Mooseheads he's pretty invisible except for when he's shooting.
WOW couple very nice shots, frk with a beautiful clapper top shelf, drouin with a wrister bar down, Mackinnon 2A Frk 1g 1a, Drouin 1g 1a,
Mackinnon also laying people out left right and centre, even when he isnt looking
Frk showing off his shot with a blast top cheese, nicely set up by MacKinnnon. You definitely do notice Frk when he shoots! Not long after a nice snipe by Drouin. The game is quickly turning into a blowout, like most Mooseheads games this season. Gatineau simply taking way too many penalties.
