No one ever cares about these, but the alternate set the Ducks had in the late 90s were sweet.

The 90s were a black pit of despair and atrocious marketing ideas.

Also I feel like it's mandatory that I belittle the robo-penguin any time it gets mentioned. Worst ****ing logo ever.

The Maple Leafs jersey from the 1998-1999 season was great because of how well they looked with the Maple Leafs Gardnes Memories & Dreams patch.

The Phx green jersey is eugh but yeah the late 90s had some good jerseys. Flyers black one was also nice. Don't forget the Islanders fisherman jersey from the 90s.

I find stuff from the late 90s to be pretty cool whether it be the rock back then or some of the neat hockey card designs or the way the game was or the TV while I find early 90s to be extremely lame.

Here are a few late 90s cards when they started getting innovative and compare them to early 90s were they were boring and looked alike. A lot of ugly but also lots of great ones in the 90s.

96 SPX Finite Radiance

98 Atomic Laser

97 Revolution:

I think 94 is when they first started making cool ones:

I'll do the opposite. The original Skating Penguin is more classic, but the Triangle Penguin is a better drawing with an awesome wing design and more symmetry.

The only problem with it is that it's associated with losing.

Early 90's were the best years for jerseys in my opinion. So many beauties.

The 80s/Early 90s were the peak of NHL aesthetics in my eyes.

Those are the kindest words I'll ever say about the 80s

Sarcastic, or for reals?

I can't believe that jersey actually survived for many years. I guess people were actually buying them, but I thought they were awful. The bear looks depressed... it doesn't compare to the bruins main jersey, or the current alternate imo.

For real. Maybe it's just nostalgia, because I grew up watching afternoon matinees on Fox with them wearing the Pooh Bear.

I do think the current alt is better, as is their standard Home/Away.

Maybe it was because it was Gold. I love the Gold jerseys and wish they'd have a Gold Alt in addition to their current one.

Agreed.

The Robo-Pigeon jersey is beyond an utter embarrassment to our franchise.

one of the worst changes in NHL jerseys over the years was going away from these:

simple yet prettymuch perfect. The 3d centurion head logo doesn't even come close IMO.

I agree. That set was fantastic. I say this in all honesty as a Leaf fan, I had one of those as a kid. Keep in mind this was before Toronto was in the Eastern Conference, but regardless, they should have never changed. They're set now pales in comparison.

Sounds like me, except with these:

I don't care, always thought they were awesome. Also gave us that great lighthouse shoulder patch.
