Apparently it's not looking good right now.

Fehr addressing media very soon. Every tweet a I've read today was negative, I've got a terrible feeling about this.

McKenzie says they're meeting again tomorrow, so it's not a fall out supposedly.

If the PA made a proposal and the NHL countered and they're still meeting tomorrow it can't be too bad right?

I love it how everytime a day of talks wraps up, the next day becomes "huge" and that days talks weren't so much of a big deal anymore. Even if they are nearly there it's still going to take forever to wrap all of this up.

I'd say we're still a week to two weeks away. I do think they will get something done though. December 1st seems like the date a lot of insiders and writers are mentioning, and it's still about 3 weeks from now. If they can wrap this up in the next week, they'll have a couple weeks to prepare everything.

December 1st is my birthday. That would be a pretty amazing birthday present. Get it done, boys!

I think they are making progress now. The grin on Bettman's face, him joking around with the media and wishing them a good night after the negotiaons yesterday makes me think that. It was certainly a happier Gary Bettman than we've seen speaking to the media before.

Hey, one day ahead of me. I'd be fine with you winning, as well.

The tweets I've read today suggest that progress is overall relatively bleak.

I like the lack of talk from the big guys. I think there must be an agreement not to tell the media every detail like they've been doing, which led to backfire.

Fehr didn't let players know the NHL was willing to make whole the contracts plus interest. Should get pretty ugly now. NHL will just watch the PA disintegrate from here onward I think.

So supposedly the NHLPA wants a full season's money guaranteed regardless of actual revenues OR the fact it's a shortened season? I want that job.......

Couldn't believe that when I saw Brooks tweet it. Absurd and petty.

Wow. That's just ridiculous. Sure it's the NHL that locked out the season, but it was just as much the PA that stalled until September before even coming to the table.

When they said they wanted the NHL to honor existing contracts, I didn't know they meant it like that! That's totally not happening.

Let's just hope they're back at it tomorrow, and show they can move beyond the rhetoric and get back to work. I really hope this doesn't turn into a deep freeze, but today was seemingly very discouraging.

Does anybody have a link to some substance or is this just a tweet war comment between reporters?

Tweet and blog war between journalists of varying credibility who generally can't or won't identify sources. It is easy to see whatever you'd like to see, depending on who's side you're on.

I'd really just like for the season to start already.

I'm with you on just starting the season. It's rediculous that it has taken almost 2 months to get where they are finally having meaningful conversations. Both sides can just kiss my ***.

Apparently no progress at all in today's meetings. Fehr is destroying this league.

I'm no fan of Fehr, but the owners are quite annoying as well. After everything they got in the last contract, the very next contract requires them to pull a groundhog day? Things are so dire that we need to likely lose another season? They got everything they wanted last time and it still requires losing another season this time? **** 'em.

Both sides pretty much never got serious until this past week, just blowing off the first two months of the season. You know, they are both just taking the fans for granted, even though they will never say that. I'm fed up with both of them, even if ultimately we find one was/is more to blame.

Everything I've read sounds like the players don't want to move a bit. This is all Fehr. He lost a baseball season and is in the process of losing a hockey season. It's his MO.

The owners seem to have moved much more to the middle than the players even seem to be considering.
