Great job. Really illustrates a couple of weird rankings, like how Reinhart has the same upside an Gaudreau & Jankowski, yet is more likely to reach it...I don't really see the same upside in Reinhart myself, I would have made him probably a 7.0 B myself.

I think a few guys are underrated as prospects.
Maybe I view the rating system differently than they do when I grade guys? I look at the low end and high end I estimate for each player
Like for Jankowski, at worst I see him as a 3rd liner in the NHL, which is a 6.0 according to their rating system. At best I see him as a first line center which according to their rating system is a 8.0. So I would hive him a number of 8.0 because that is likely his best, the letter represents the difference between low end and high end or the drop between the two. Since I rate his low end to be a 6.0 I can see a drop of 2, which would be a C letter grade. So Jankowski in my opinion gets a 8.0C
For someone like Reinhart I think his top end is a second line center or 7.0, but I do not see him being less than a 3rd line center or 6.0, so I would give him a 7.0B
But what do I know I am new to this and not some kind of HF rating guru.
Did not know Matt DeBlouw has 3G and 7pts in 8 NCAA games
4 of those were in one game. I highly doubt he keeps a slightly sub-PPG pace.
Meanwhile, John Gaudreau had a two-goal game and now has 11 points in 8 games and has a point in every game. Loving the consistency this guy is showing. I'd much rather have a guy who chips in every night than a guy who's invisible, has a 5 point night, and goes back to being invisible.

If he keeps it up there's a good chance he turns pro next year.
But I also remember him saying he wanted to play with his kid brother on BC but Matty Gaudreau isn't even close to be as good as Johnny so I doubt they'd even play together.

DeBlouw and Gaudreau are not even comparable.
Gaudreau is a high skill offensive player that has hopes to became the next small player to become a star.
Meanwhile DeBlouw is a defensive center who is a faceoff specialist who will exceed all expectations if he can become a 3rd line center.
The fact that DeBlouw had a 4 point game as a freshman while being a defensive and faceoff specialist is promising and very impressive.

He shouldnt be in the NHL if his weight is not at least 170-175. The dude is 150 ish pounds. It doesnt matter how talented he is he will get man handled by NHL defenceman at that weight.

If Gaudrea can win the Hobey Baker and another NCAA championship what else does he have to accomplish at that level? He appears to be ready to move on to the next level next year, so it would not be stupid for him to go pro and spend some time under Ward in Abbotsford. Even @ 150lbs Gaudreau has a ton of lower body strength and is difficult to knock off the puck and wins puck battles as a result.

There may not be "much left to prove" but physically there is a massive difference between playing against boys and playing against men. Nathan Gerbe had 68 points in his 3rd year of college and it has translated to a career high of 31 points so far in the NHL. This doesnt even mention the fact that Gerbe is a tank and much further along physically the Gaudreau (he is 3 inches shorter and 20 pounds heavier). Players as short as Gaudreau are few and far between in the NHL. The college schedule gives him more time to hit the weight room and mature into what is hopefully a dynamite hockey player for Calgary.

The NCAA is effectively playing against men. If Gaudreau was in the CHL he would be playing against 16-19 year old players, but instead he is playing against 18-24 year old players who are much more developed physically than CHL players. Just in the game tonight Gaudreau faced a team with 8 or 9 players 6'2+, 200+. That is more than alot of AHL rosters, which is where he needs to play next year. Even the Heat only have 9 skaters that are 6'2 or bigger and they are one of the bigger AHL teams.

JG had 2 more goals tonight, that now gives him 11 points in 8 games he is second in H-east in points only behind Mike Collins who has 13 points in 9 games.

170 ish seems like a good weight for JG.
JG's career path will very much be like Atkinson's, but Atkinson really came on to the scene in his sophomore year, whereas JG was a stud as a freshman(and STILL improving as a sophomore)
If he wins the Hobey this year, and hopefully another national champ, then Abbotsford is where he will go to. Atkinson was almost PPG in his first year in the AHL and he played 27 games with Columbus. I dont see how JG cant do just as good if not better
