Reading and hearing about our prospects takes a lot of this thing out of the stupid CBA negotiations. I can't wait until Scheifele makes his start next year.

Yes, he was injured. Not sure what his current status is, unfortunately.

Olsen: 2G, and 2 "in-your-face" penalties.

Having one of Lowry/Kosmachuk/Olsen develop into a quality 2nd/3rd liner would be huge. It will certainly be fun watching these guys progress as all three to varying degrees are showing great promise in junior (based on numbers - as I have not had the privilege of seeing any of them play very much on tv/stream).

I'm really liking our prospect pool. It lacks a few high end pieces after Scheifele and Trouba, but I imagine the 2013 draft should rectify that problem.

Quick link to the Michagan game last night showing off our prospects offensive skills. Trouba breaks up a play and carries the puck into the Michagan state zone leading to the goal (no assist but a solid play). Then he goes tape to tape on a stretch pass from his net to the other blue line to spring a forward on a breakaway who couldn't convert. Then the one time blast from the point on the PP for his goal.

No defensive blunders in this montage either.

Amazing stretch pass (too bad the forward didn't bury it on the breakaway), and huge shot from the point for his goal.

No worries! I almost forgot, then clued in around midnight.

I might start doing this more often, had the idea just to do a daily video of all the prospect highlights.

If you watch on YT, the description has more info (2nd assists can be hard to spot).

I guess what I am trying to say is... Lets see him make and play in the bigs before we compare him to All-stars.

Yes he has some desirable skill, but so do all of these kids, and a couple of them are going to be complete busts.

Also, Brian Campbell is dang good hockey player. I would be over the moon to get that kind of player 9th overall.
Not to nitpick but Boyd Deveraux is a forward.

I believe Devereaux was drafted as a d-man, and converted to forward. Kind of like Wendel Clark. Could be wrong though.

According to hockey db, he played junior as a Centre, which would suggest he was drafted as a forward.

Cool, fair enough. I do know that he did play D sometimes. Maybe thats where I though he was drafted as one. Stand corrected on the draft thing.

Wikipedia (being far from faultless) also has him drafted as a C

I didn't think he would be the 7th D man drafted either.

I was confident Murray and Reilly would go ahead of him wasn't sure after that. I thought he'd at least be within the top 4.

Lowry just got credited with a goal that one of PA's d-men fired into his own net!

Haha.

A free bonus point.

Scheif with a 2nd goal but to no avail 3-4 loss

Also, Trouba -3 and Serville -1 tonight. Trouba has another checking to the head penalty.

Sutter scored
