It seems that Stortini won't play tonight...

"Les trios à l’entraînement étaient formés de la façon suivante : Gallagher-Bournival-Holland, Blumden-Geoffrion-Nattinen, Quailer-Dumont-Palushaj et Berger-Boyce-Stejskal. En défense, les duos se composaient de St-Denis et Beaulieu, Tinordi et Ellis, Corbin et Nash."

Not a good sign for Avtsin if they called up an ECHLer with 1 assist in 9 games to play instead of him.

Was Stejskal playing forward in the ECHL too?

Greoffrion Hurt??

From EOTP
"Blake Geoffrion was injured in the first period of today's Hamilton Bulldogs game against the Syracuse Crunch at the Bell Centre on a hit by Jean-Philippe Cote.
The hit resulted in Geoffrion losing his helmet and making contact with both the ice and Cote's skate. Geoffrion was rushed to hospital and underwent surgery for what the Canadiens and Sylvain Lefebvre say is a non-life threatening injury.
Few if any details are available about the injury, although there is speculation that he suffered a subdural hematoma."

I saw the hit late last night. It was a very high impact hit, but nothing dirty about it. He had the puck, head was not targeted, it wasn't blind-side and it was not late. It was just a case of Geoffrion having his head down. Really scary though to see him quickly skate off the ice and then hear that he's being driven to the hospital.

Can't imagine what both his mother and father - who were both at the game - were thinking.

Someone else in the GDT was complaining about softness, I guess I was distracted by the Dogs lack of skill and how they were completely dominated.

When most of us were groaning about signing Stortini, there were a few defending the move. Where'd they go?

Guilty.

I though he would bring some solid veteran presence, on the bench,
as well as on the ice. I guess I was wrong.

Yeah, I was... I'd like to say it was a good game, but the Dogs were terrible. Especially St.Denis. Geoffrion was having a good game right up until that hit, I hope he is ok.

Was it really from hitting the ice? It looked like Coté's skate cut him. That's what it looked like from the whites anyways.

"Depressed skull Fracture" out indefinitely..

As Dave Stubbs said
Quote:
As I suggested, that Geoffrion skated off the ice – with a depressed skull fracture – says something about the guy #Habs #Bulldogs

Blake Geoffrion, 24, had successful surgery last night for treatment of a depressed skull fracture. His condition is stable and he remains at the intensive care unit at the hospital.

just asked gf about it (she's in med school) and said it was not that dangerous, and said that if it was ''un hématome en dessous du crâne sans fracture'' the pressure would be building up and it would have been much worst. Kinda strange but logic at the same time.

Coté's hit was just fine. Honestly, this is where every player needs to be accountable but not only the players that hits. Côté was coming from a mile and it was clear he was coming towards him IF Geoffrion would have had his head up. But he kept having it down all the way. Hockey has to remain physical. And I,m sorry, but while I love people standing up for others, there's nothing more stupid that I find that people wanting to fight others who just made legal hits. All great that Tinordi looked fine against Gudas, but Gudas hit was also really legal. And this is going in the NHL as well. So if you are a player who just hits hard but aren't a fighter, like Subban, you'll have to go and fight because you hit a guy legally? Where is the time when you took the guy's number and hit him just as legally hard after instead of having to fight? I mean, go ahead and if a guy hits your star player or any player on the back, drop the gloves, no fax, and club the guy. But legal hits? Come on....be a man, take a number, and get him next time. I understand though that in Tinordi's case, it might have been one too many. We were getting hit hard, and I guess we had to show up. Great to see that from a rookie. But if it was solely for the hit, I don't buy this and are tired of it. This is the freakin some of the Bruins fans mentality. If Subban can't fight, he shouldn't hit hard......are we that stupid?

Incredible how bad luck follows this organization with those injuries. I mean, can we have just day-to-day injuries? Or no injuries at all for a change? Can it move on to other organizations?

I mean, the league should made an exception of the 50-contracts signed with us....

My french is lousy, but I'm taking that to mean there was no internal bleeding inside his skull?
