Coyle fits just barely top 50 (47th) in the scoring and Zucker top 100 (I admit he missed a couple of games), if Granlund's playmaking was as advertised his wingers would be well over PPG players. As I expect to be when they get their mojo going.
Granlund and Schultz were swapping places back and forth between who was leading the entire AHL until Granlund got hurt. He's leading the league in points per game.

I thought the Aeros looked great before two key players went down. First line was gaining chemistry game after game. Hax, as already mentioned, hasn't convinced anything tho.

The whichever arena that Halifax-Gatineau game was in last night is also used for playing Ringette. Adding that line has been proposed by the NHL for testing in the AHL. I'm pretty sure the AHL rejected it when they instituted hybrid icing.
That's the one!

If I understand it correctly, it's even more asinine than the trapezoid rule.

One of the infuriating things about the Aeros performance is all we hear in the press down here (very little at that) is Torchetti saying, over and over, that they have to play together or they have to play a full 60 minutes.

Dangnabbit coach - it's YOU who are responsible for getting them to play together and play a full 60 minutes. And if we have guys who truly don't want to play a full 60 minutes, or who want to be prima donnas rather than team players, they have no reason to be on a professional hockey team.

Well, the first two weeks of the season when they had 4 or 5 healthy scratches, Torch could scratch guys. With the current injuries, they don't have a lot of guys in the ECHL or CHL that are gonna push the current guys out of the lineup.

Furthermore, this is a development league. I don't think you want to start scratching 20/21 year olds for losing/making mistakes. Now, if we get further into the season and a player continually does not show up to play, then it's a different story. Other than the last two games, I can't say that I haven't seen the guys playing hard.

Safe to say Kuemper is starting tonight. I think he's looked much better than Hackett.

So much for that.....

Are there any other STHs here in Houston that are getting frustrated with this talented but otherwise PoS team?

I'm thinking Torchetti needs to go.

You might be our only member from Houston.

I honestly don't know anything about the Aeros coaching staff.

I'm thinking Minnesota needs to draft another defenseman or two. Outside of Brodin and Dumba, Minnesota has questionable intermediate depth.

While we could use another couple defensemen in the prospect pool, it's more an issue of timing and roles than anything else. Scandella and Brodin will be with the big club whenever the NHL starts up again. Kampfer's not exactly a defensive stalwart. Cuma's still too much of a question mark. Genoway and Connelly are AHL offensive guys. Bagnall's obviously a career AHLer. But when you look at our system, we have Dumba, Seeler, and Draeger outside of Houston (and some will add Gunnarsson or Jobke to that list). If our Houston group were a bit more balanced instead of being all offensive or NHL guys I think we'd be fine.

Too much offensively gifted forwards in the next draft to pass on them but maybe 2nd or 3rd round we draft defenseman.

IIRC (without looking it up), we would have to acquire a 3rd rounder in order to draft there. Believe we gave up our 2013 3rd to get Powe. Regardless, if there's a top shelf forward that management feels comfortable with in the first, then yeah, grab a D in the second.

Just throwing this out there...

If we have a surplus of forwards, maybe a team has a surplus of D prospects and GMCF swaps one of our young forwards for a young D. Not advocating for it or suggesting it will happen but its another option.

We have San Jose's 3rd from the Sheppard deal. We also have New Jersey's 3rd rounder from the Zidlicky deal (the conditional of reaching the Eastern Conference Finals was met).

Oh yeah. Forgot about that. Still stoked we'll end up getting a warm body for James Sheppard.

Did we give up a 3rd rounder for Powe? Dang, in retrospect that seems a little steep for a 4th line energy guy. Oh well, Yeo must have told GMCF to acquire the Powe for other reasons.
