Lol no I'm not a girl...

It's the jersey and other factors..

Playing style of the player and that of the team...

Where he's from, amount of flair and that's about it..

He wouldn't look bad in a leafs sweater either... And the Preds yellow ain't awful...

I know I said he will be a riser but cool it a bit man so leafs can get a chance to draft you

Love him, and glad to see him he is doing so well. Hope he continues this.

I have no trouble seeing Burke take him at all. I also thought he was going to take Rielly as well, but this draft is a little less obvious even though everyone wanted Forsberg and Girgorenko.

He could play center in the pros.. If not it's unlikely Burke will take him...

I wouldn't think he would have any issues. I've been in Drouin's bandwagon since the beginning and am well aware he's a center and right wing. However I doubt that him playing center would be a reason we draft him, if we were to draft him. We seem to follow the best player available rule.

However if a player like Monahan or Barkov is available before Drouin, I'd think he goes for them before Drouin. That is ofc saying that Jones and Mackinnon are taken already.

I'd add Lazar to that list. Burke loves his WHL boys, and Lazar plays a very Carlyle-friendly game

Burke drafted the Sedins. When it comes to lottery picks there is no such thing as a "Burke type player"

I think the point others are making is that Burke doesn't really have a "type." He likes to TALK about truculence, but if you look at his actual moves they don't really reflect that. As others mentioned he worked very hard to acquire the Sedins, who are just about the least "truculent" players in the league. The teams he has built in Toronto is easily one of the softest teams in the league, relying on skill and speed, not size and toughness. His biggest acquisition with the Leafs has been Kessel, one of the softest players in the league, and his other big acquisitions include guys like Gardiner, Lupul, MacArthur, Connolly, Franson, Bozak, JVR, Liles, etc. Some of those guys are decently tough/physical, but all are closer to finesse players than bruisers. With the two high draft picks he's had with the Leafs, he selected Rielly and Kadri, both far from power players. He does go after bruisers too (guys like Phaneuf, Biggs, Komi, Brown), but if anything I'd say he's emphasized skill more than physicality in the moves he's made in Toronto. If Leafs scouts think Drouin is the BPA when it comes to our pick in 2013, I'm sure Burke would be happy to select him, even if he isn't a power forward.

I don't think we can say "he doesn't have a chance" yet. He's proving to be one of the top (if not the top) offensive players in the draft.

Probably the most talented player in the draft.

I've only seen him play a few times but he reminds me a lot of RNH.

3 more points tonight, up to 29 in 14 games. Craziness. 3 points behind MacKinnon in 6 less games.

I see what your talking about when I watch him. Similar skating, puck handling, etc. I do think Drouin is a better goal scorer (and thats no shot at RNH). I just see a better sniping ability with Drouin.. but good comparison.

I think he very easily could..... if the Crosby similarity/hype would be taken away. Honestly, I think that's the only reason Nate is projected as 1st. Take it away and I think he goes anywhere from 3-5.

I wouldn't count on it yet..it's too early in the season but I believe there's a chance later on the season if he keeps on dominating like that. The thing with Nate, is that we know that his style of play will translate well in the big leagues, as for Drouin, he's more of a risk. I wouldn't count out Jones in the top 2 either, he's really special too.

If I had to pick a single player to compare him with it'd be RNH. Otherwise a combination of Briere and Kane would be more accurate.

Not only does he have the hockey sense/vision/stickhandling of some of the more recent highly touted prospects like Huberdeau and Grigorenko, but very rarely does a player of that style have the acceleration that Drouin has (especially out of the corners).

Usually when we talk about players being able to "control the pace of the game" we mean that they can slow things down and dissect defenses with their vision/passing. With Drouin, he can both slow things down and speed things up. It makes him IMO much harder to shut down and adds a lot of unpredictability to his game. If he can strengthen his lower body/core over the next few years he could become a very dangerous NHL player.
