Zibanejad hasn't even been doing well in the AHL with a MUCH better cast.

They aren't comparable being one was still supremely dominant at the time compared to the other.

Now, I'm not saying Zibanejad is bad, I'm saying he isn't at the level of Karlsson at the same stage.
no Karlsson wasn't dominant in his first month in NA i don't know what alternate reality your living in , sure he had flashes but those were it. No ones saying Zibanejad and Karlsson are on the same talent level.

It's not like he tore up the SEL last year and just needs some north American seasoning before he joins the big club...

Last year he struggled with a concussion on a bad team hindering his development and has now came over with more adversity to our hockey. I doubt he make sens roster if this season starts but it should be a good year for his development.

The expectations are a little high right now IMO.
Pretty understandable why expectations might be high. We picked him quite high in a ****** year for the team and passed on Couturier to take him.

Hamilton is the guy you should be bummed about that we passed on. Top pairing defenceman.

We needed forward prospects.

If we drafted Hamilton, Murray would have been lynched.

Mika's looked good this game.
Stone is amazing, he skates like Heatley did but his awareness is incredible and he is so unselfish - he needs to be more assertive and take control, it's almost like he's taken it upon himself to get everyone else a goal on the team before he does.

I guess, but your just saying because he's not playing as well as cours right now in the NHL lets get mad.

If you knew anything about him before the draft and followed him your after exPectations should be tempered.

Not everyone thinks Couterier is that great. He's ok but Zibby could be better in time.

Who knows who will end up being better? I'm just saying that expectations are high because we passed up a highly-touted prospect who was ranked higher to get him.

Only player I am really upset we passed on is Hamilton, as I have been pretty much since it happened. And that's in no way a slight against Zibanejad, I just think Hamilton will be a top 30 DMan in the NHL.

Gosh must have forgotten cuz of lockout

What happened? Karlsson, Ceci, Cowen, Wiercioch, etc disappeared?

Plz God give us NHL hockey, I spend like 10 minutes a week on HF and can't even stand all those hindsight comments about "should pick, shoulda pick"... quite annoying and 100% useless, just be happy with what you have or you'll always be unsatisfied.

Who cares what our needs are at draft time. You sign free agents for need.

Bingo. Always, always take BPA. You can always sign a player or trade for need.

This thread needs a little positivity...let's not forget that this kid almost cracked our lineup last year.

Here's an interesting question. If you were to evaluate his potential and current rating according to EA Sports NHL13's definition, what would it be?

My guess would be 3,5 green stars with a current rating of 75.

Do you really think he's got the potential to become a superstar (IE an EA-rating of 90+?).

Hope you're right

barely any of the guys that have the same potential got to 90+ ex: bartschi 69 overall 4 and a half star potenatial and ends up being 86- 88 overall

so i expect him being 84-88

That would still make him a top tier player in the NHL, that's good ****

Really?

Cowen-Karlsson-Ceci-Wiercioch
Borowiecki-Blood-Wikstrand-Claesson
Wideman-Gryba-Sdao-Boyle-Fransoo-Aneloski

And that's not even accoutning Marc Methot

How do you know Sens management didn't take BPA based on their internal lists? Do you really think they care about fans prospects rankings or what the draft order WILL be?
