Interesting point. What players are on Kreider's line?

Worried? You're joking, right?

At least he's not playing with Kyle Palmieri

Just heard a stat... Whale are dead-last in avg. goals against per game in the AHL... Without seeing any numbers, I second that just from seeing every Whale game so far lol

Two completely different situations. Keider was a supporting player in the playoffs, now he's a core member of the team. Plus, he's a known quantity now--coaching staffs have seen him play.

How long is McIlrath out? He might make the defense better. Even if just a bit

Great assist by Kreider.

He's a great passer, so hard to mesh with a north-south player like Newbury.

And it's about time Christian Thomas gets PP time on the point.

Quality of the Whale D has only one way... up. Statistically, dead last in goals against avg., and frankly seeing Niemi, Klassen, Parlett, Vernace, Collins and Pyett, this has to be the worst D in franchise history (I've followed the franchise when they were still Binghampton!)

Well, we do have gilroy (while he does suck defensively, he can still mae up for the goals he gives up)
Obviously redden cant play either.
So the whale are like the Flyers, but with a goalie.

5-1 now. 2 goals from Thomas, and 2 assists from Chris

I dont know much about minor league D but are Vernance and Collins not vets with some NHL experience? Did Pyett not have experience too?

Gilroy has played in the NHL. Yea I am sure Niemi, Klassen, Parlett are bubble but the top 4 should not be complete crap and McIlrath will help when healthy

Thomas scoring is making me quite happy, once he can prove he can score on the AHL level I'd like to see if he can make it in the NHL.

He got top PP time and was playing with Kreider and Newbury. Kreider is exactly who he should be playing with. He'll do good with that ice time.

That line got even strength time together too, though it felt like I didn't see them a lot

Feels like I saw a lot of Tommy Grant and Kyle Jean and those guys

1-0 Whale already.

Haley from Hrivik and Miller.

Nice for Haley to finally get his first of the season, and in the building where he's played the last 5 years.

3-3 after 2 periods, Whale totally blow on the PK...

Defense still scares the hell outta me. Today, its Sean Collins driving me nuts.
