Yeah though a lot wouldn't admit it, I'm sure 95% of Toronto fans would take Gally at 3rd today. Similar upside but one plays a position of need. I love how serious he is in his interviews too, this kid is all business

The funny thing is before the draft, most leafs fans were hoping for Burke to pick Gally and Dalton Thrower...guess who pick them both Anyways, you got to settle for what you have. Rielly is a great prospect, but Galchenyuk is a special talent and I'm just happy to have him in our system. I would have pick him 2nd overall behind Yakupov, but if he played last year, who knows, maybe he would have been an Oiler as we are speaking.

There was an 8 minutes interview with Bergevin friday night and they all asked questions that were answered in the previous days by Bergevin. God, if I was there I would have asked given they way he played, would it be a wasted year letting him in the juniors another year and should we expect him making the big club. Nope, for the 30th time they asked if the lockout benefits him, what he thinks of the rookies, what is going on with Subban...how would these answers change in the lapse of 1-2 weeks? Anyway, looking forward to his next game and particularly the WJC!

Both look like solid picks, so it's quite possible.

Not saying they are right, but laughing at them for overhyping their prospects, considering we do it more than any other boards, seems a bit silly.

People in here are talking like if Galchenyuk was better than Yakupov and Mackinnon, while Bozon and Hudon would be the "steals" of the draft...

I just found out that Sarnia is first in his division. I guess we can start to say that Gally is the kind of player you can build around. He's very skilled and his leadership/commitment are unbelievable. We can build our offense around him. We just need a other blue chip offensive prospect. We could find a excellent partner for Gally via UFA market (aka Perry) but I always believed that true winning team are build through draft. Collberg, Vail and Bozon are good prospect but they will be 2nd line fowards. Pacioretty and Gally are a sure duo. We need someone to compliment them. Drouin and Mantha would fit perfectly on our future 1st line.

I think I'm gonna threat myself with this afternoon game against Sudbury.

The top few this year was a toss up because of all the injuries and the speculation about Grigorenko. I suspect that Galchenyuk will be fine but there are likely to be a few players lower in the draft who end up looking pretty good, too. A bunch of defencemen looked really good, but the habs have a need...

A number of teams with late picks did well. Boston has some prospects (thanks to TO in part) that are way better than would be expected for a team that picked low. A bunch of guys fell a long way in this draft so there will be some steals.

Drouin might be a blue chip prospect. Mantha is a 2nd liner at best. Shinkaruk and Drouin look like guys we can get to play with Gally if we are drafting top 5-10. But blue chip and Mantha dont belong in the same conversion.

Calvin de Haan's brother Evan de Haan just picked up his first OHL goal to make it 1-0 for Sudbury.

Actually it looks like they gave it Kantor.

Chapman makes 1-1.

and Leivo makes it 2-1.

One of the few times I've ever seen gally handed a goal by one of his teammates.
