Thats a pretty ****ing solid top 12. Some good youth on that team in the 3rd line that could be one hell of a 3rd scoring line. Lots of grit and defensive play in the 4th line. Steckle for uber important faceoffs and depth.
What happened to JVR?

I'm hoping the Oilers go after Horton. He'd be a great fit in our lineup

Gillis would be stupid to not resign Edler, its a certainty if he ships Luongo. Doubt he will go after a big name, though.

I know SJ is trying to re-sign Clowe. I don't think it's a certainty that they will because I think Clowe thinks he's worth more than he is.

I like Cleary but with current situation, I don't think we can keep him. Possibly the same with Eaves. Miller could test UFA. Can pk, scores close to 15 goals..
I'm not a huge fan of losing Mursak, but if it comes down to losing potential 3rd liners vs. potential first liners, it's an easy choice. (And without a guaranteed roster spot, Tatar might not stay at the party much longer)

I'm not a fan of Cleary at all. As for Eaves, unfortunately I think his days may be over. From what they're saying, he's not improving, and it's been nearly a year now.

Semin probably re-ups with the Canes on a one-year unless someone goes nuts after striking out on Getzlaf or Perry and offers him a long term deal.

Kindof weak likely UFA class from the looks of it. A lot of guys that are most likely to re-up at their current locations (Elias, Iginla, etc.)

Agreed except for on Cleary. If everybody on the team had Cleary's work ethic the team would be so much better. He had a poor year because he needed surgery. I don't understand why most wings fans don't like him.

I see the jets going after Zajac and Selanne. I also see them trading Antropov and I'm unsure if they'd be interested in re upping Hainsey.

As much as I appreciate that he dropped everything and moved all the way to Buffalo from Calgary, I can say I won't be that sad to see Regher go. He still has the grit, but the guy has lost a step.

Not saying it's impossible Filppula leaves Detroit, but don't expect him to sign with a different team.

I can see Clowe being majorly overpaid this offseason. Not many players like him available.

yeah he can join Hall on the treatment table

Seriously, I'd expect him to re-sign if Boston has the cap space. If not, it's everyone's guess of course.

funny that you don't remember JVR is on your team...

I don't know what will happen with Timonen but I hope he resigns for cheap with the Flyers or retires.

I would love to get Simon Gagne back in the Orange and Black for a cheap contract as well. But we'll have to worry about signing Giroux after next year so I dont know how much the Flyers will be able to spend on their roster, especially if they lower the cap

Predictions are moot at this stage but I would love it if Gillis (apparently they were 2 mill apart pre-lockout) blows off Edler and he hits UFA ... "IF" he hits the market I think The Wings would be able to make a very solid pitch.

Let Cleary and White walk and sign Edler for 6.5. Of course Jimmy and Filp will also be needing raises so it would be tough. The Swede contingent in the room (Zett, Franzen, Kronwall, Sammy, Gust, Nyquist, Ericsson ... with a handful in the pipeline) also cant hurt.

Iginla isnt going anywhere. I could see Perry bolting ... anyone would be thrilled to get him obviously. Clowe would be a great addition - especially if we lose Franzen to a trade or Bertuzzi to buyout - some size will be needed.

All conjecture. If they all hit UFA status and I had to put money on who management would go after the hardest + who would be most receptive my answer would be Edler though.

Either Getzlaf stays in ANA or signs with us in WPG.

I don't think Zajac would sign here.

Agreed with all of this. Only way Clarkson leaves is if he gets snubbed by the Devils, and I personally don't see that happening. However, if he does he leave, it's likely he goes home to Toronto because he's from there and Burke loves his type.

I am a bit concerned with Zajac though, I'd love to have him resign, but I have my doubts on him.

Zajac's from Winnipeg, it's likely he will return there.

Actually those two aren't bad. Antropov adds another element to our third line, and if we can get him for money formerly dedicated to Malhotra, excellent. Hell, I'd take a flyer out on him now if Winnipeg was interested. Leopold I'm not huge on, but for 1.5 (more then Alberts' money) I'd happily keep him on this team if our youngsters aren't totally ready.

Edler to Edmonton though...I think the Canucks are going to resign him, probably 95% sure of that, or if he makes it abundantly clear he won't resign, we'd package him up at the deadline for a Perry-calibre rental. He's simply too important to let walk.

I agree, after the Ducks duo, Clowe and Weiss (in that order), should be considered.
