He thinks he is a winger now cuz he's played a lot of games at wing to start the year because the Sarnia coach stacks one line and sarault can't play wing.
We've been looking for that big center for ages but we're going to turn him wing? No sir.
It's just a bonus that he can play wing, in case the game situation requires it such as putting all your eggs in one basket for a couple of games which Sarnia is doing with him.
That big center thing is a bunch of bs. You need good players no matter the position (or size), and I feel Gally style of play fits better for a winger (and he seems to play better on the wing too).

Our best center is 5'11, our #1 center is 5'7. Koivu has been the closest thing to a franchise centerman we've had since ages and he was 5'10. At 6'0.5 Gally can easily reach 6'1 which is gigantic proportions compared to what we have. Big center doesn't have to mean he's 6'4.
As for his playing style, who knows if his game is better as center or as winger, but fact is that he is a natural centerman who is skilled enough to adapt. But you seem to have a hard-on for him playing wing somehow. It's not going to happen.
So Galchenyuk is playing wing in Sarnia? Did the jump in points come before or after the switch?
Yes it did, but he was starting to produce at a high level before it, so chances are he'd be producing at this level regardless. If you watch his recent highlights he just ends up in the center of the ice most of the time anyway.
Like it was explained by CP, Beaulieu stacks up 1 line of his veterans together and Sarault is basically only a center, so Galchenyuk plays wing.
I see LeMAD brought his usual negative crap about Habs prospects to this thread. How in the world is Galchenyuk probably not going to be a center in the NHL? You are just reaching now.
This is true. However, he's coming from way back on the leader-board. In the last 8 games, he's been a tidge over 2ppg. He's really been picking up steam lately.
He should play the whole season in Sarnia regardless, it'd be the best thing for his development rather than parachute him into the NHL when/if the lockout gets resolved in the next month or so.

As my previous post was deleted, I will re-phrase this without profanity:
I've never said anything negative about Galchenyuk or any other prospect, but I really wish we'd switch our fanbase for any other one in the league.

Why not give him a couple of games? it would wet his appetite and would give management (and us) a better idea of his progression. After all he can play 10 games without any problem ( I would rather he play less) And unless he tears it up, he'll know what to expect next year.

totally agree, I thought his game would be best suited on the wing although I've only seen one game this year and he was playing C.
