The Islanders have been using rookie bonus`s to reach the cap floor.
If the new CBA stops this practice then they will be millions of dollars
below the cap floor. I can see them throwing a boat load of money at Perry.
Him next to Tavares would be deadly.

I think Edler re-signs with Vancouver. We were in contract extension talks with him shortly before the lockout.

Exactly, they should be so grateful to get a $9 Million defenseman like Komisarek for such a cheap price

For Montreal, Perry, Gagne, and Koivu would be targets provided they hit FA.

Montreal has always needed that all-star dynamic scoring forward up front, and Perry is just that. Koivu, if given a contract, would love to finish his career in Montreal. Gagne would provide some secondary scoring from the province is an added bonus.

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Perry
Gagne - Plekanec - Gionta
Eller - Galchenyuk - Leblanc
Moen - Koivu - Prust

Looks pretty good to me

He's good when he's healthy, which accounts for about 10% of the year.

Let Cleary and White walk and sign Edler for 6.5. Of course Jimmy and Filp will also be needing raises so it would be tough. The Swede contingent in the room (Zett, Franzen, Kronwall, Sammy, Gust, Nyquist, Ericsson ... with a handful in the pipeline) also cant hurt.

Iginla isnt going anywhere. I could see Perry bolting ... anyone would be thrilled to get him obviously. Clowe would be a great addition - especially if we lose Franzen to a trade or Bertuzzi to buyout - some size will be needed.

All conjecture. If they all hit UFA status and I had to put money on who management would go after the hardest + who would be most receptive my answer would be Edler though.
Edler at $6.5 is just about impossible with the new CBA.

I think MTL should target Clowe as well. It would give us a good LW to play with Plekanec and Gionta and add some more size to our lineup which is always good.

Would definitely hope the Oil make a pitch for Edler, just not sure we'd bid what it takes. Can't see us going higher than 6 mil, which I think DET outbids. Would be very happy with a future D of

Edler-Klefbom
Smid-Petry
Schultz-Schultz

As for our potential UFAs, we get Smid and Jones done but Whitney walks (likely to BOS).

Never thought about this. Hopefully edler wants to stay because we would be in trouble without him. Not to mention he is an actual Canucks draft pick, born and bred.

I'd be pretty unhappy if the Oilers managed to lose Smid. In addition to that, I'd expect them to overpay some random Dman.

He was on pace for over 30 goals just two years ago. Sure it was playing with Datsyuk but he has proved he can score given the opportunity. He can play basically anywhere. If he plays close to what he did in 2011 I would like to see him back.

Exactly this, I could easily see Clarkie and Patty both take discounts to stay. I am 100% sure Patty , Zubie, and Clarkie stay. If Zajac doesnt re-sign, then he will go to Winnipeg

I'm hoping that the long term solution the Barclays provides, plus Tavares and money can start enticing some free agents. If Snow was given the green light to throw down some $$$ on Perry then the Isles would be golden. He would be such a sweet addition and the JT-CP combo would be deadly and can battle other teams top players. Yeah we have JT but in the division there is also Crosby, Malkin, Giroux, Kovalchuk, Gaborik, Nash and Richards. We need another threat.

Ill take Zajac in WPG and a Getzlaf/Selanne package deal. Pegger and a Sask boy coming near home, and an old WPG legend for one more year.

Toronto reinks: Lupul and Bozak

Toronto lets the following guys walk as UFAs: Lombardi, Connolly, CMac, Steckel

Toronto makes a major push for Getzlaf and Perry but loss out on both

Toronto then turns it attention to (in order): Zajac, Weiss, Roy and lands Weiss

Toronto hopefully isn't the team that will regret overpaying for Clarkson and Clowe.

I can see Clowe testing free agency, SJ has choked for like 4 years in a row now.

If thats the case, Van would go after him hard because he fits exactly what we need in our top 6.

Edler will be re-signed gaurantee that, and I have a hunch that Raymond will be dealt with Luongo.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - Clowe
Hansen - Higgins - Kassian
Weise - Lappiere - Mallet

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler - Tanev
Ballard - Connaughton

C.Schneider
E.Lack

World class skill + size and toughness
