This thread helps explains the Panthers situation better than I can

Seeing the amount of empty seats when watching a game on TV leads me to believe there are not many diehards going. Half the arena is probably filled with Canadians who live their in the winter.

It's unfortunate people have lost jobs but it is what it is. No job in the world is guaranteed but when hockey does come back so will your job, right?

Now, I think like many people do that contraction would make the league better but before that relocate at least 3 teams back to Canada. The league would only benefit from it. People would lose their jobs but that's no ones fault except for Gary putting teams where they shouldn't be. blame him.
Not if you're a Panthers employee when your team moves to Quebec. :/

It is beyond idiotic to suggest that an NHL lockout is good for Senators fans.

The lockout is about to end. I dreamed last night that I was talking to Bettman and he told me it would be settled by Thursday.

Lockout is not good for Alfredsson, therefore not good for ANYONE. IDGAF about Quebec.

If that's your interpretation of the thread so be it.

Yeah, this lockout is not good news for anyone. Any growth the NHL has made the past few years is erased now more than likely.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:

Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
