Was your favorite player who was not considered a first team guy but you always rooted for.. A couple of mine over the years... Ed westfall and from the same era Ted Green..Stan Jonathan comes to mind... Any thoughts???
How'd we get a dozen responses in to this gig without:
I dunno, I know O'Reilly started out as the consummate grinder but when I think of the Bruins through the years I always put him in the upper echelon, so to speak. After all, his number's in the rafters.
I'm thinking the OP was talking about unsung hero types. The Chris Kelly type of guys, as LSC noted.
it still bugs me that he was made a scapegoat in '08
Muzz is a favorite of mine and didn't deserve the crap from some "fans". He played with so much heart and was quite a leader on the B's. I wish he would come to a game. Most of the STH I know respect and like him.
I also liked Derek Sanderson, Joe Juneau, Dennis Wideman ...many more

Michael Ryder, he'll never be confused for a hard nosed gritty typical Bruin but he always showed up in big situations and was a warrior in the playoffs. He played in 4 Bruins-Habs series, 2 with each team and went 4-0 in them. He especially stepped up vs the Habs as a member of the Bruins. PJ Axellson is also on the list, if there ever was an award for a Bruin who gave his all through some of the toughest Bruins seasons he'd get it. Lastly Marco Sturm's goal face makes my list.
