Tarasenko is great, but Geno scored 19 points in his last 8 games... Hope Volodya one day will be able to do something similar.
Yeah Malkin's sure been on fire.
Now if you look at the stats a little more closely and take Malkin's icetime over that 19-point stretch and translate it to Tarasenko's latest games, he's gotten 16 points himself. Not too shabby and I'd say that's "doing something similar." I'm also guessing Malkin gets much more powerplay time, but feel free to call me on that (too lazy to do more research).
Anyway, not saying he's Malkin, but we should not discount just how good this kid can become.
I don't think anyone expects Tarasenko to play at the level of Malkin.
It's a hard task to compare them. They play different hockey. Malkin is a more playmaker, Taras is a more finisher. They complement each other. It would have been a beasty line had they played together, a killer machine. But it's just a dream.
Also it depends on a team. Malkin was lucky - Pittsbirgh allowed him to develop his talent as an offensive player. Consider, would he have become such a megastar had he played, for example, in Columbus instead of Nash? Or imagine even Saint Gretzky in Columbus?!!!
But you are right. It's better not to expect from him anything great. Just let him play and develop step by step.
Tarasenko's completely blown me away. From the time he was drafted I thought he was a risk because of him never coming over. But this summer he showed the desire and will to come over and since the lockout he's been tearing it up. I have high, yet realistic expectations for him and he should be the offensive spark this teams been seeking.
Explain please, how can exotic accent influence in relationships with girls
The old "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" syndrome. Women who have gone through a LOT of lousy (in their eyes) "candidates" for a "meaningful relationship", will think that the odds they'll find an adequate one will be higher, the farther they look away from their current locale. The foreigner is interesting, because he's different, not like the stereotypical local males who continue to disappoint them.

Yeah, I guess it's the same everywhere. Girls prefer foreigners. May be it goes on subconscious level to mix with new genes to breed healthier descendants.
Reading all those threads about Russian stars not wanting to come back to NHL if their salaries will be cut, I only imagine what money SKA is offering Tarasenko to convince him to stay in S.-Petersburg. But he anyway choses NHL and Blues. I've long forgotten how good it to be young and have big dreams...

That's definitely got to be one of the main factors. We are all biological beings, brain power is only a secondary representation of biological function.
But let's not get any further off topic. I'm still angry that every day that goes by we are missing seeing Tarasenko in a Blues' uniform. We fans deserve our NHL more than the players deserve to keep their overpaid excess, and more than the owners deserve to keep the added profits they could make my waiting out the players. If there is justice, a bargain will be reached soon.

Hehe, it's one of bad things about democracy and human rights - players and owners got every single right to be greedy ********...
It's easy to be romantic about the game when it isn't your primary source of income.
I played Juniors in Canada, and team owners were making money off me. I still think that, as players, we owe something to the game. No one is asking players to risk terrible injuries and crippled old age after careers, just to make a pittance.
I'm not asking the players to take a beating financially while the owners make better profits.
I'm asking the Top 40% (higher-contract) players to come down on the unrealistic money they are earning now, WHILE the 10-12 richest owners share the wealth more (e.g. take in lower profits) so the league can function. That's not too much to ask. There will be a much smaller pie to cut up, if the greedy richest franchise owners, and the greedy players don't decide it's better to be less greedy.
