ULF named one, do you think any of those named were real superstars? They were great players I would never take anything away from them but were they like Sundin or a Modano, Hull, Messier etc etc? Big difference I would say, again I loved those players.
Agreed. The mentioned players were fan favourites on great Leafs teams, but none of them were superstars.
Anyone can be traded, even Kessel, depending on the return.
If Kadri ++ could land a 1st. line center around 25 years of age I wouldn't lose a minute of peace.
No this would never work. Kadri is way to unproven to get a 1st center around 25 even with ++ what pieces can we add that would get this done that don't hurt us? Maybe Kadri, Lupul + I guess but i don't know if i would do that just yet.
Was talking about the reference to Kadri being slow. Much like Andreychuk was slow. Much like Jason Allison was slow.
Deflect? LMAo You guys really don't know that debating is about supporting your arguments by citings facts and examples... No wonder this thing goes in circles.
1. There is no argument that his play this year is subpar.
2. Connolly, Lombardi, Crabb to start with.
3. I think it is unfair for him to have to earn a TOP 6 spot in order to be on the team.
I would be happy with him getting 3rd line minutes, and some 2nd unit PP time.

If we're going to play ths game we should probably do it while excluding everyone's top 4 overalls (to at least compare apples to apples).
If you let the other team walk around uncovered in your own zone the goalie's save percentage is going to suffer because the opposition is getting good scoring angles, 2 on 1's, 2 on nones.
If you keep teams to the outside with bad angles saves are much easier.
Scrivens' 40 save performance against the Bluejackets come to mind. Wilson was great at padding some of our goalies' SV%, while throwing the other under the bus by starting him for most of the tougher games.

Crabb played 67 games last year averaging over 13min. So why couldn't have Kadri been given that time?
Just let the kid play.
Type of player has a lot to do with it. It is fairly rare to put an offensive player on the fourth line getting 13 mins when he can be getting top line minutes and power play time in the minors.

Getting 3rd line minutes with the likes of Lombardi, Crabb, and Tin Man isn't going to help him earn his way into a top 6 player. At this point in his development, he needs competent players to play with.

Crabb had a totally different role. He's decent defensively, has some grit, and was one of our better PKers. Kadri couldn't have filled the same role.

Kadri is a good pest. Maybe he should be focussing on that.
He could still get 2nd unit time with the Leafs.

He could have been with Frattin or Kulemin on the 3rd line. People tend to forget that Connolly does have skill.
What would be have been wrong with a Kadri Connolly Frattin 3rd line?
I think he needs competent competition more than he needs competent linemates.
Let him play against other 2nd and 3rd liners in the NHL, who are going to make him improve more than playing against carreer AHLers.

Kadri could have been a good pest. And why the heck are we giving up spots to unskilled players who are not ELITE PKers, or Defensive Specialists?
LIke I said a few pages ago. Tell the kid to go out and hit everything that moves and see what happens. Just be the pest that he is and not worry about scoring so much.
I think he would excel in that role and draw a lot of penalties. The offense will come as he adapts to the NHL.

For those of you who are laughing at me, please read first. I asked who on the Leafs he would replace Kadri with. He stated Connolly, Lombardi, Crabb to start with.
He was the one who said he would replace Crabb with Kadri. I simply informed him that Crabb no longer plays for the leafs.
I stated who charliolemiex would replace Kadri with on the leafs and he suggested Crabb as one of the players. I showed him that Crabb was not a leaf this year.

There are a handful of other Marlie players that deserve a spot more than Kadri. You don't know a thing about hockey.
Also, Kadri would not develop with 3rd line minutes. You play the player where he is skilled for. You don't see a goaltender filling in for a 4th line spot do you?
Here is the way it works. A prospect needs to put in his time with the farm team. Then when he shows the big squad that he has developed enough, then they bring him up. Not before. No matter how much Kadri Love you have, he has not earned a spot with the leafs....yet. Am I sayin he wont? Nope, not at all. He could break out of this slump he has going on and then go on a tear. Eakins made the right move sitting him. Gave Kadri a wake up call. Lets see if he can sustain it against tougher opponents.
