Or this. I'd much rather Ceci and the above mentioned.

I stick by my words that got me flamed. Ceci = the next Drew Doughty

I would have said that before this season, but Boro hasn't been great this entire season.

As well, Wier-Benoit have been a pairing in Bingo since Cowen went down, so I wouldn't put it past management to bring them up together.

I don't think we'll have a season this year so it probably wont matter who may or may not be re-called lol.

That would be stupid. He is nowhere near ready yet. Bring him up now, you kill his confidence and stunt his development. Worst thing they could do.

At least it happened now and not in 5 years when we're ready for a major cup run, or right before the playoffs were about to start.

Methot/Karlsson
Phillips/Gonachar
Weircioch/Lundin

I got flamed for saying I would like another stud D prospect for the left side.

Now you see why.

Trade for Edler, Gormley, Erixon or de Haan if he wasnt also injured.

I'm pretty sure we'd sign a replacement for Gonchar in any case. And are Benoit and Lundin even under contract for 2013-2014?

EDIT: Oh, you're speculating Gonchar stays in Russia... right.

It's a good thing I'm talking about the 2012-2013 season then.

It's a hypothetical in any case. The lockout might not even, and Gonchar could very well return if the lockout ends (he hasn't really flat out said he won't).

Hip injuries can drag on forever, cause groin and back issues and what-not. Torn ACL's are reparable and totally fine after recovery.

Damn, he looked pretty good in the 3 games with Bingo I was kind of hoping this would be the year he would really develop into his own.

I don't think it would mess up his game. He's not far off from being NHL ready, if he's not already ready.

Ceci shouldn't even be discussed if there is a season this year. He needs this year in the CHL to continue to work on the little things. As a defenceman its those little things that are the difference between being an NHLer and and AHLer.

I wouldn't say definitively that he's not NHL ready. I'm fairly confident that there could be teams in the NHL in which he could play in the NHL this season, especially after half a season of development before the lockout ends.

That being said, it probably isn't beneficial to play him in the NHL this season on the Ottawa Senators (barring a huge injury crisis on the backend, even moreso than the scenario now), especially because there are other players that are more developmentally ready for the NHL on the depth chart, both in prospects (Wier, Boro) and AHL vets (Benoit).

Keep Ceci developing, looking forward to him locking down the right defenseman role behind Karlsson for the next decade, if all goes according to plan.

While Alexander Ovechkin drew attention last month for saying he might stay and play in the KHL if he doesn't agree with the terms of a new CBA in the NHL, fellow countryman Sergei Gonchar doesn't think that line of thinking is that unreasonable.

The Ottawa Senators defenceman told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun on ESPN.com on Friday that in his opinion, staying home is a possibility.

There's the whole contract thing. Those Russians saying they'll stay home are smoking some premium brand.
