Some bad news for #Sens and #BSens fans. Hearing Dman Jared Cowen has opted for surgery. Believe it's his hip, not his knee. No timeline yet
i've never heard of him before. none of my trusted sources have anything on this. Also, I've heard that he is still walking around fine this weekend. Not sure what is going on. Lots of very conflicting stories.
That, you do. Great trip. The city of Binghamton has some incredible people.
RE: Cowen, news is now being reported by Ottawa MSM, too. I'm shocked. Like SFL11, didn't see anything Saturday night that might've suggested he needed surgery, and he didn't say much about it except that he was healing.

Power just went out here in moville. Per 1 tweet I read power is also out in Rome, but my friend in Utica says powers on there. *sigh* laying down in a quiet dark room w/ no quiet noise...
The dominoe effect of a Cowen injury will be felt in Binghamton as well I think.
If there is a season in the NHL one of the D will definately have to move up to fill in for Cowen. Borowiecki or Benoit bring a lot of physicality if needed. Maybe both with one of them as the 7. Wiercioch will have to be a leader now (as he is showing he can be); but if Benoit moves up, that's a huge spot to fill.

Brust made 29 saves on Tuesday to preserve the Abbotsford Heat's 3-0 win over the Lake Erie Monsters in American Hockey League action.
It was the 18th shutout in Brust's AHL career and his second of the season. He has allowed just one goal in his three games played this year. He has been sharing the crease with Danny Taylor (seven games) and Leland Irving (two games).
"It's a nice feeling," said Brust of his stellar 0.33 goals-against average and 0.987 save percentage. "It's a product more of the way the team's played. We've got some pretty lucky bounces. The games have been pretty tight, so that always has guys blocking shots and diving in front of pucks a little more.
Also, I am really loving Stone's game. The guy has high-end skill and hockey IQ. Seems much more NHL ready than I originally thought. I think he is only behind Silfverberg in terms of next in line for NHL.
You think all the talk about him being NHL ready soon has started to go to his head? Cuz a player like Boro needs to keep it simple as he can or he wont be effective. He just isn't skilled enough to play anything else then a simple game.
Puemple with 16 goals in 20 games played
Noesen now 29th in OHL scoring after 8 points in 2 games
Ceci 35th in OHL scoring with 21 points in 20 games played
Really cant complain about our OHL boys doing bad, all having solid years solid far developement wise. Im also excited for Puemple in Kitchener since they seem to have picked it up lately.

I think it's coaching. I think Luke Richardson is in his head. While I like that Luke has these guys playing on edge, he needs to teach them when to cross the line and when not to. So far, our losses this season have been directly related to the amount of stupid penalties we are taking. We had maybe one game so far home or away where i thought that we didn't really skate well. The rest, we had a chance to win.

Stone and Silfverberg are like our very own Jamie Benn and Loui Ericksson.
By the way, B-Sens announced yesterday that only 500 tickets remain for Friday nights game against Adirondack. Looks like Saturday night is selling well too. Should be good crowds for both games in the ol' barn this weekend.
