Chelios, Nidermayer, and Shanahan will all probably get in. and then i'd like to see Blake, Joseph, or Kariya take the last spot. Idk how likely that is though.

I'm a little iffy on Brind'Amour. However if we're going by career longetivity then him and Andrechyuk getting in I have no problem with. All the guys are deserving and I wouldn't have a problem if any of the non-bolded ones get in except Claude Lemieux or Barrasso (avg regular season goalie). Maybe some of them didn't have a very long peak like Roberts but extremely notable productive careers, hard thing to do in much of the late 90s and early 00s.

Markus Naslund? Come on. Guy should never get in. People went nuts over Sundin getting in and Mats had by far a better career than Naslund did.
I'd be shocked if Housley made it in and Fleury is unlikely due to off-ice issues (even outside of that which he couldn't control) so he'll have to wait a bit.
I think Housley totally deserves to be inducted. If Sundin is in the HHOF, then Housley should also. Both have been dominant players for their team through all their career (#1 center vs #1 defenseman). Both never made it to the Stanley cup, but enjoyed international success. The main difference between Sundin and Housley, is that Housley played for 9 different teams and is not identified to one particular team. Had he played with the same team for all of his career, then I believe that these accomplishments should make him a lock in the HHOF :

This looks great if you're just making a paper argument, but it ignores:
- the #1A reason for these numbers is that he played during an area of inflated stats.
- the #1B reason is that he didn't play defense at all.
- and on top of that, his scoring didn't really translate into team success.
So the numbers are nice, but they have some BIG question marks attached and he would need a bit more of a rounded argument to support them....

Adjust Housley's raw stats back to what they would be in a normal era, and his case is really not any better than a whole lot of guys who aren't going to get in.

Scott Niedermayer being in means Zubov should be in, IMHO. Zubov was the better player than Niedermayer more often than not.

Zubov was more reliably a solid defensive player.
What Zubov wasn't that Niedermayer was? A Canadian kid who has a high-profile image of winning. That alone won him a Norris in 2004; Lidstrom drooped offensively, so the writers decided that someone else must be the best defenseman and Niedermayer was the anointed choice - much like Chara in 2009.
If Dick Duff can get in then any second liner can, afterall he was a third liner...

Everyone either stat compiled or had too short a peak. Although Guy Carbonneau is easily one of the top 3 defensive forwards of all time. Maybe even the best.
You can't take the word "fame" literally when talking about the Hockey Hall of Fame. Especially when considering the all-star game. It's a popularity contest. It has featured players such as Filip Kuba, Mike Komisarek, Tony Hrkac, and almost had Rory Fitzpatrick. Players remove themselves from the all-star game so they can rest for the playoff stretch. It's a marketing gimmick and should not be considered whatsoever when judging a player's case for the Hall.

Agreed. There's a big difference between being named as a NHL First Team All-Star and being named to your first NHL All-Star game team.
One of the best American players of all time doesn't seem to get much consideration. Tony Amonte, was 4th in league goals between 96-00 after Leclair/Selanne/Jagr. Produced in the dead puck era, I wouldn't really have a problem if any of that generation of 90s to mid 00s American star fwds got in.
