Connor Brown named OHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Connor Brown of the Erie Otters is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 11 after recording seven points in two games scoring twice with five assists and a plus-minus rating of plus-6.

Brown led the Otters to back-to-back wins for the first time this season beginning with a 6-3 victory over the Peterborough Petes on Friday night.  In that contest Brown produced his first career four-point game with two goals and two assists and was named first star of the game.  He followed up that performance with a three-assist effort on Saturday as the Otters defeated the East Division leading Oshawa Generals 6-1.… read more

Having more goals for scored when you are on the ice is better than having more scored against.

Unlike Phil Kessel. But I do believe +/- ratings are important stats but it doesn't show the big picture.

Nice to see Brown getting some recognition. Maybe setting himself for 2014 WJC tournament.

McDavid is 3 years younger and both are listed at 5'11, 170 lbs.

Lets hope not but I am actually on board with what you are saying....I went and watched them live a few times and McDavid makes everyone around him 100 times better. the kid is absolutely amazing and he's only 15. Theres a reason in his first OHL game he was paired up against Dougie Hamilton for every shift. Not saying he's a bust but McDavid is that good.

McDavid is to Brown what Tavares was to Maclean.

except Maclean never once crossed his own blue line into his own end. I have atleast watched Brown play in his own end.

His point totals I'm sure are inflated a bit by McDavid, but Brown is a talented player in his own right (led the Otters last season in scoring without McDavid) so good on him for earning weekly honours.

Hopefully he can continue to build on his success with or without McDavid because confidence can be crucial to a players development.

Looking like a good value pick in the 6th round as of now.

Some players are a product of the players they play with, others are a product of the competitions with theplayers they play with. Brown seems to be feeding off of McDavid and raising his level of play. The good news is that McDavid will likely be in the OHL for Browns entire OHL career. He will then move on and play with professionals.

I was more so referring to the offensive output.
