Offseason Situation

Resigning:
So it turns out that the only major guys I'll have to resign are Kessel and Faulk. I'll have 14 million dollars in cap space, so it should be no problem. Faulk is only 79 so he won't run me much money.

Significant player progression:
Jordan Staal jumped from 85 to 89.
Christian Erhoff jumped from 86 to 88 after a should-have-won-the-Norris season.

Trade Block:
As of now, I think I want to keep the roster I have and hope that I have better luck next year. However, I will be listening to offers on ALL of my players. They can all be had at the right price.

Schenn and Hamonic both regressed.

Franson went from 83 -> 86.

Other than that my players either grew by 1 or didn't grow at all.

Also none of my prospects grew by anything significant. Garbage.

Thomas Vanek is being a doucher. He had 36 points in 69 games and regressed from an 85 to an 83 and hes only 30. He even played on my top line, but was injured when I went on that crazy run of 11-1-3. Good thing that 7.1 million dollar contract expires.

Also, Im going to be moving a defenseman. I will give more specific details once I can log on, but they will be around 80 overall and pretty young (untapped potential)

Well I wanted to try and get my hands on a top pick, but it seems as though all of the terrible teams this year were CPU handled. Looks like Philly has the worst record of teams with GMs.

I am looking to move up as much as possible in the 1st rd. I have two 1st Rd picks. My own and St. Louis.

I didn't scout enough this season, so all the Devils picks are on the block, along with prospects in exchange for an upgrade on my NHL roster.

Any chance you guys could let me know what Mackinnon and Shink are looking like? Thanks.

Not quite sure how player development works with this game. I have Pulkinnen who was a 67, played maybe 10 games on the 4th line as a call up jump to a 72..then I have Tatar and Abdelkader regressing by 1 playing in the bottom 6 all season.

Its mostly random imo. I had Matt Halischuk at 77 overall as my 3rd line RW in year one. He played 14 games, had seven points, and gets injured the rest of the season. He jumped to 84 overall the next year.

I also had Mattias Ekholm jump from like 69 to overall to 79 overall this year. I wish you could see damn AHL and junior stats so we could make sense of it all.

My 4 star prospect (Max Domi) who I drafted like 10th overall last year only went up one overall after a whole year of juniors. Fml...

Yeah it must be. I have Colbourne as my 4th line center jump from a 76 to an 80. Tatar and Abdelkader spent a lot of time on his wing so not sure why they would regress.

Yann Sauve (24, 3.5 stars, 78 overall, top 6 def, RFA) can be had for a similar forward or him with a 2014 3rd(or 3 star forward center) for a 1st round pick. Will listen to offers.

The Draft will be tomorrow at 5pm.

Mackinnon went from 60 to 71. I'm debating whether to leave him in the OHL for another year, or let him play for the big club.

I would recommend playing him in the juniors for another year, because if you start him on the big club, every time someone gets injured he will get scratched due to best-lines feature. He won't get any experience from being in the perss box all year, but hshould be NHL ready by next year if he has the same kind of jump in the juniors.

Have you seen my roster (Stanley Cup winning roster, that is). My bottom two lines were 66 overalls. He won't get scratched.... but I will probably play him another year or two in juniors.

Since he is listed as a center with a low overall, he will always get scratched or played on the fourth line. You have Richards, Duchene, Bozak, Smith, and Couturier all at center who are rated better than Mackinnon. Juniors is the best way to go.

Ugh! I don't understand this game sometimes!

MOJO has 4 Yellow Star Potential. He finished in the top 5 for goals, and played more minutes than any other forward on my team.

Still an 81!

All of my D improved which is good I guess.

It sucks that we don't have the ability to change a players position/type.

Even better, they should add a postion-lock feature so that you can lock a player onto a certain line. This was they should never get removed from your lineup or given less ice time unless they themselves get injured. It would be very helpful for getting low-overall/high-potential players experience. It's bullcrap that because one player gets hurt, it moves everyone around.

It would have been far simpler if EA had given us the option to choose whether the assistant coach replaces an injured player, or if he changes the lines completely. Would eliminate all these problems.
