Definitely Devils.

1) Isles
2) Devils

3) Pens
4) Philly.

My opinion anyway.

I'd swap Philly and Pittsburgh in Canon1990's list, just given the past couple of seasons and how that rivalry has (been) built up. Could go either way, though.

Isles are more of a "What the hell, why not?" type of a rivalry now. It's more to settle the season series but with the Devils, it's a duel to settle who has the better team, better players and better goalie. There has been more high stakes game against the Devils in the last few years and for kids like myself, the Isles rivalry lacks the true feel of burning competition and that sense of glory to the champion and death to the other.

I personally hate Philly more, but I think the recent history dating back to when the Devils entered the league, has them as the bigger rival. Although the Winter Classic and sweeping Philly last year amped up our rivalry with them even more.

What I'm trying to say is, even if the Devils rivalry is stronger, I'd pay more money to go to a Rangers - Flyers game than a Rangers - Devils game.

I would guess that is would be the Flyers with the fans 40 and over and the Devils with the fans under 40.
As stated before the rivalry between the Rangers and the Isles from 1975-1995 was the most intense and will probably get never get close to being matched.

New Jersey. They're a couple levels above Philly, in my opinion.

I have a personal hate for NJ. I don't want Philly to win, but when they do, it's nowhere near the madness I have when NJ does.

We've had 3 playoff series' against NJ since the lockout. I think that puts them at number one.

I'd probably say Philly, as of late. Not to say the Rangers Devils rivalry has died down, just the Rangers-Flyers one seems to be a bigger one from the past two years, and winter classic, and 24/7 et centra.

Easily the Devils. I can't see how that's even a debate when the Flyers aren't even number two; the Penguins are.

1. Devils
2. Penguins
3. Flyers
4. Islanders

Devils. I stop thinking about the Flyers the second the game ends. But I'm always eyeing the Devils and take great pleasure when they start slipping down the standings (no offense to any prying Dev fans here...just the nature of the beast )

I hate all 4 of the Atlantic division teams equally.

And you can throw Montreal in there as well. Actually, part of me hates Montreal even more because of the arrogant and obnoxious fans...it creates a sense of nationalism for me.

The Devils are probably the biggest on ice rival but emotionally, it's still the Islanders.

It all depends on the decade in question. No clear answer at all really and age doesn't factor in because historical perspective is paramount to one persons age and opinion.

This is probably the best answer really. Being 18, I really can't appreciate the Rangers/Islanders rivalry as of late. They're essentially hockey's Washington Redskins to me.

devils > islanders > flyers > pitts

w/o a doubt devils>flyers in the past 2 decades though-- current day included.

devils are like an eight-minute train ride to the garden? you mix fans much easier. getting booed at home games is what makes or breaks it.

Emotionally, I say Philly, in that the teams seem to have more bad blood between them. Strictly from a hockey sense, as in who is a bigger threat to NYR's success more consistently, it's got to be NJ.

emotionally imo pits is def above philly-- in recent years; but come on, torts on the bench last season yelling at deboer. you can't get much more emotional than that. feels like the emotion is more on his end and the fans end in nj. players seem more emotional playing pitts.
