Marlies head into 2nd intermission with a 4-1 lead.

More of a conservative approach in the 2nd period, but it seemed to work. No chance for Rynnas on the lone OKC goal.

Sure it is. I'm speaking more to the fact they are NHL players who aren't likely use to playing at 11:30 am (as a potential reason for being slow out of the gate).

In our defense, they are the top NHL line for Edmonton.

They haven't played in the NHL for months though, I think you are giving their players too much benefit of the doubt personally haha. The Marlies and our players are just better

Well obviously the Marlies don't need a defense in this case because they are handling them very well. I'm just saying it's a possiblity for their off game.

It's not unusual in these types of school games that one team comes out flat. Now the Griffins vs. Marlies school games..those were bloodbaths from what I remember the last few seasons. There always seemed to be a handful of dirty plays and fights infront of the kids lol

I love how our Marlies' GDTs get more action than a lot of NHL GDTs on hf.

stats are actually updated in realtime, so he has 5 points this year not 7

Seems like the Barons top line was only playing half speed for the first period. In the second period they were skating as hard as you would see them go in the nhl. It created a bunch of chances. So much talent.

I wish Toronto was more like "Play the Kids". Having at Kadri-Colborne-Frattin as a line on the NHL would be perfect. If they can beat out the grabovski line, then they switch.

Frattin is coming back after the road trip right?

At this point though, the Barons just aren't playing very well. Sure, Schulz has racked up some points, but the team has scored but 35 goals in 12 2/3 games. We've been upset by the lack of production from our guys, yet we have 41 goals now in 11 2/3 games. To top it off, they've given up 44 goals, so something isn't clicking for them.

They are getting very little production outside of their stars. If the NHL restarts, this team is going to be in a world of hurt. No bones about it though, their top players are incredible talents, just no support, defence has been weak, and goaltending has been weak.

Yeah, hopefully Eakins puts them together for an extended look.
Not sure when Frattin is back. Is he practicing with contact yet?

I don't necessarily agree with this. It could be a case of the fact they are NHL stars, so maybe other players on the team expect them to carry the team? You could be right too, that they may just flop without them, but I think the opposite could be true as well.

Sometimes other players rise to the occasion when they know the likes of Hall, Eberle, RNH etc aren't around. I don't believe this team is a whole lot different then there team last year (who were pretty good.

Agreed. If the NHL starts back up OKC might not score again for the rest of the season. Not to mention that Hartikainen will almost definitely stick with the big club and maybe Pajaarvi too. It could be a disaster for the Barons.

If so, that'll be so huge for the Marlies obviously but also Nazem Kadri. Kadri has been trending upwards offensively over the past 2 games(4pts), and putting a pure sniper who scored at scored at a 50G pace through 23 regular seasons games & 13 playoff games in the AHL will be huge in producing some consistent offense!

Kicked the rebound right to the tape of the OKC forward and puts it away. Rynnas made a good kick save the moment prior also on the other side.
