Care to explain?

FTR, i was never a fan of bringing in Nelson as the next Oilers coach just yet but he has done a fine job down there, don't know why you say otherwise.
I'm always a fan of tactical, learned, coaches. From Sather, to MacT to Hugh Campbell I like the thinking mans coach and always have.

NHL players are always interested in learning more about the NHL game and will pay attention if theres a block of knowledge to be found that will help them play their NHL game. Its quite possible to have that in the AHL. But that coach needs to be a better student of what will succeed at the highest levels of hockey. I don't think Nelson is that guy. I've gone on length why I think that. If people want to disagree with that fine, let me know what you think Nelson does well as a coach. Let me know what he brings to the table for the NHL Players on this club. Let me know what they can learn from Nelson. Because what I'm seeing is very little.

Did we mention the league(s)? I don't think so
I think it comes with common sense that when one of the players is playing on a tier 2 team overseas it doesn't really fit into the equation. Just my two cents.

The Marlies were ready this morning, I wouldn't give the Barons a pass on this one.

It baffles me how many times people include the "q," it doesn't make any sense.

It's a results oriented business. Renney got horrible results and Nelson thus far has gotten positive results.

I'm pretty embarrassed by this team. Seriously our top NHL line can't even best most AHL teams?

Hall, Eberle, and RNH are doing fine. It's the poor defensive play and questionable goaltending that has hurt this team. Sound familiar?

Well they're all a PPG and Schultz is leading the entire league in points. Hall has 4 goals in 6 games. They aren't doing too bad, our defense and goaltending have left a lot to be desired so far this season.

???

One is an NHL coach that has had success at the NHL level, the other an AHL coach.

Not sure how you're equating the two. You're not following what I'm putting down.

If you're an established NHL player what do you have to learn from Nelson?

What is he teaching our NHL players. If anything was evident you'd easily be able to tell me.

You're avoiding doing so. I'll ask for the 4th time.

What specifically is Nelson teaching our NHL players?

Nelson was an assistant coach in the nhl so its not like he doesn't know what it takes.

He taught them how to win. You don't think that going to the Western finals last season was a good development tool for the NHL hopefuls?
What did Renney teach them besides how to play as passive as possible and learn to lose?

The defence is awful. Secondary scoring from guys like Lander and Paajarvi is non-existent...
