If Halpern isn't resigned and no free agent is brought in... I say let Beech, Laich, Steckel, and possibly the draft pick(Toews, Staal?) all have a shot.

It wasn't a "bad" call but it is hard to see the game decided on the only call in OT.

What a way to ruin a terrific game - both teams deserved better.

Sucks that they blew a 2 goal lead with 5 or so minutes left in the game

It's "bad" in light of what wasn't called.

Tomorrow's game is huge. It will be interesting to see how they respond to their first loss. Especially losing this way.

Can't argue that. Ciamaga isn't one of the better AHL options.

It also brings up memories of Caps losing playoff series on similar "bad" calls ......

Ugh i was there for that infamous game three, what many point to as the beginning of the end (although I think it started back in '98 when Tik missed the open net). I hope to god they can put thi game behind the, and come out gunning tomorrow and win big. Given the scheduling, I'm sure neither team wanted to play much longer, not that they would have anyways but you know what I mean

I said something about Beninati and OLN a few weeks ago on some boards; I think there is a very good chance of that happening; interesting news about Engblom; not sure I see the Walton thing happening, although that would be sweet - seems to me he just started a new job, but perhaps this would be a big enough opportunity to not pass up???

I have not read the complete GDT yet; bummed about the loss, but glad I was there to see the game

Steckel and kudos to Flesichmann and Green, too. and the whole team for that matter, but credit goes to the Pirates for not packing it in when the score was 5-3. Congrats on the win JR and seeing at least a game 7. The guys are going to be exhausted today with the 6pm start. Hopefully, Cassivi can stand on his head to withstand what I expect will be a Pirates onslaught to start the game. And to state the obvious, the Bears need to stay out of the box.

Strange to see Koken sitting with McPhee at the game.

Getting ready to hit the road back to Hershey

Rumor going around AHLfans.net is that Steckel is done for the playoffs (knee). This is completely unverified, so grain of salt and all that.

That would be disastrous. I have to believe he would at least suit up and play whatever he could to give the bears a morale boost. He did come back out to play in OT though, so maybe its not quite so bad.
