Reading the boxscore that says Marlies got 4 penalties in a row to spur this comeback.
5 on 3 after 5 on 3 leads to some results.
Does this excuse going down 4-0 in the first?
Everybody will have a different answer to that which is fair enough.
They were slow off the hop. Which isn't out of the norm for an Atom level start time. I think fingers need to be pointed at Roy, the inexperienced, slow moving D-men. It doesn't help that only the top three are scoring right now.
Uh oh... @3:30 of OT: Justin Schultz skates to the bench with an apparent injury.
A pretty light shot from the point by Gardiner caught him in the leg, must've hit above the padding or something because it was a muffin of a shot. I wouldn't be too worried.
Wow they need to be better defensively as a squad, but let's be honest these kids are getting worse goaltending in the AHL than they got in the NHL. ****ing pathetic.

They give up premium scoring chances by the bushel.
Its not exactly an accident for a club that allowed 3 goal comebacks twice in the 3rd period and now allowed 4 GA in one first period. This is not bad luck. Its a result of how the team plays.
This is more than D and goaltending. The Barons got KTFO in the first period. When your team is stumbling badly its incumbent to take a time out, feign an injury, delay the game something. At the end of the first this club was really rattled and they get that way pretty easily and repeatedly.
Are Plante and Teubert brothers? Imagine a world where their mind move faster than their feet or vice-versa? Wow. Plante with a hooking call in OT. Move your feet.
amazing come back. On the bright side Shultz, Eberle, Nuge, Hall are all looking great. Considering Ebs and nuge didn't have a training camp and Hall is back from a injury. THe down side is what is with the rest of the team? seriously, looking brutal.
At the end of the day, there is no excuse to be losing when you have this much talent. Whether it's due to the management, the coaching, the players, or all of the above.
Yeah I'm still trying to figure out how he was an AHL all-star last year.

Looking good in terms of what? Offense?
I'm glad there is no NHL this season. If this is the crap we could ahve looked forward to is another bottom of the league finish while having one of the best PP in the league then I really would ahve lost interest in the NHL season right around now. This team needs to learn how to play defense and score at ES. A top PP all season won't do f-all.

I don't really care how a team scores. PP or not. an amazing pp is not to be downplayed. Also, this game they were nto good even stregth but aren't all ebs, hall, nube, shultz still plus players ev? I get it they should score more even stregth but still, they haven't been that bad. Reality is it is the rest of the team that has sunk this ship.

They are still very young and very inexperienced. They won't be where you'd like them to be for at least a couple of seasons.
It is a very good sign that they are able to overpower teams with their talent alone on the power play.

The teams are not the same. Players like Teubert and Plante are eating top minutes. If they're not getting beat on the rush, taking a call to compensate for their foot speed they couldn't even clear the net on two obvious missed assignments in the first that caused goals. All the players that belong in the AHL at best are under performing. These prospects shouldn't be so indicative of our current NHL team currently. The top lines ES play led to PP goals. It's only common sense.

Exactly. They have kept this ship afloat. Performing like the players they are touted as. There is no rest of the team. Certainly not this morning.

Apparently you never noticed what an amazing PP at the NHL level did for them last year.
They need to learn to play defense if they want to compete at the NHL level.
