Karlsson's overseas team, Jokerit, arranged for a shooting competition on empty net. The loser will have to grow a moustache in honor of Movember. You can see Erik in the background although he already has a thin moustache. He's so young that he has to be careful not to wipe his face too strongly with a towel, his moustache could fall off. Also if there's a strong wind, he shouldn't be walking against the wind or risk having his moustache blown away.

Jokerit plays tonight (@ 10:00 AM Ottawa time) against Regin's new team, Rauma Lukko (Lock) @ Rauma. Regin's not scheduled to play tonight, though. Hopefully Karlsson's point drought ends tonight.

This is the last game for over a week because next week there's Karjala Tournament and no SM-liiga games are played because of it. Erik's having a week off going back home for awhile.

Yes he did, didn't score. No one of Jokerit shooters scored. Ruutu and Detroit's Filppula missed also.

Karlsson attempted to grow a mustache here too with similar results.

Ruutu is usually great in shoot outs.

Kyle Turris so far

10 GP, 2+5=7, +7, 20.14 TOI.

In the last 6 games he has managed to get only 2 assists, both in the same game. So 5 out of 6 without points. He works hard and makes great passes in every game but has some serious trouble with finishing atm. The opposing teams give him special attention so that is eating away some of his scoring. He seems to be very frustrated.

Erik Karlsson played today. SM-liiga continued after a week's Euro Hockey tour pause. Karlsson was -2 tonight, he was on the ice for both of Jokerit's goals but also four times when Ässät scored. Well you have to give him some slack, Jokerit was on PP at the end trailing one goal and Ässät made two empty netters. But Ässät's first goal has to be blamed partly on Karlsson. He played sloppy and Ässät forward scored. You'll see it when highlights appear on Youtube.

Erik today.

NOV 13, 2012: ÄSSÄT @ JOKERIT 5 - 2
G 0, A 1, P 1, +/- -2, S 11, PIM 0, TOI 25:28.

Karlsson after 15 games: G 3, A 8, P 11, +/- +9, S 116, PIM 12, average TOI 25:15.

Meanwhile, take a look at Ruutu's bomb in tonight's game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JX4Y2zuOqTc

Turris today.

NOV 13, 2012: ILVES @ KÄRPÄT 3 - 5
G 0, A 0, P 0, +/- +0, S 4, PIM 2, TOI 17:35.

Kyle after 11 games: G 2, A 5, P 7, +/- +7, S 49, PIM 10, average TOI 20:00.

Highlights later on.

Thanks again, Kentti. I really miss Jarkko Ruutu. Watching the series against Pittsburgh, our bottom 6 of Neil, Kelly and Ruutu really was the only advantage we had against em and we've been missing his presence lately ever since he left.

Really? Smith brings much more to the table than Jarkko.

To be honest, not in terms of the pesky ability Ruutu had. He went UNDER your skin... and stayed there. Smith is a perfect Kelly/Fisher hybrid replacement, imo. Just not a Ruutu replacement.

Also, just cause we have Smith doesn't mean we can't use another guy like him or Ruutu. As much bottom 6 as we already carry, I think we could use a more experiences one to solidify the bottom 6. A guy like Gaustad or whatever.

I think Avery would be the perfect fit.

No more bottom 6ers. If Regin stays healthy it's probably one of the very very best in the league.

And it doesn't look like we have a Ruutu replacement in the system either. We have some prospects who could end up being physical bottom six forwards like DD, Kramer, Hamilton or Costello, but none of them are really stand outs as agitators. Maybe the sens should consider signing, drafting or trading for a guy who excels at agitating and can also play solid bottom six minutes.

Being pesky has its quirks as well. He never usually gets the benefit of the doubt when it comes to penalties.

Thank god he's retired...

If he came to this team? I'd probably stop supporting them... No joke.

Jesse Winchester played his first game in Mestis that is the second highest tier of Finnish Hockey. Jesse plays for TuTo that plays in Turku in the western part of Finland.

NOV 14, 2012: PELIITAT @ TUTO 2 - 6
G 2, A 2, P 4, +/- +3, S 4, PIM 0, TOI 18:26.

2+2 in your first game, not bad, eh? Well the league is not that good, some of the teams are basically SM-liiga farm teams. But still a good game for Jesse.

Here's the press conference about Winchester (some parts in English): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=JdXneGfbdGU

Edit: English part @ 3:36-6:50.

No highlights of the game yet. I'll post it here if one surfaces.

Someone needs to sign with Salavat Yulaev Ufa and bring Filatov back with them.

Or, better yet, Igor Mirnov! Oleg Saprykin is also doing well on that team, maybe we should bring back the entire coveted Salavat Yulaev Ufa trio!
