Rasmus likes batting top of the lineup, and he's been more productive in that #2 spot.

He said something along the lines of him 'not having to think about his AB, not enough time to think about the pitcher, just go up there and hit'.

Someone like Adam LaRoche makes a lot of sense for Jays. Fills the void at 1B (EE DH-ing) and is a lefty that you can plug between Bautista and EE if you wanted a R-L-R combination in the middle of the lineup. He's also good defensively.

And to be honest I'm pretty ok with that. I had Bonafacio in at 2B, but if he's at LF and Izturis is at 2B, not a whole lot wrong with that line up.

Reyes SS
Bonafacio LF
Encarnacion 1B
Bautista RF
Lawrie 3B
Lind DH
Rasmus CF
JPA C
Izturis 2B

Pretty decent mix of power and OBP ability. It's not a bad line up. I wouldn't be totally against AA not doing anything else. It's a pretty good lineup, and should be able to score runs.

I doubt Rasmus bats so low.

Rasmus needs to learn how to hit regardless of where he is in the lineup. Just because he sucks less at #2 doesn't mean he should hit there.

He can't steal bases at #2? He has shown as much power as Lawrie has to this point of his career.

people will rip the marlins but really they couldn't even get 70 wins last year with a huge pay roll... they gave up zero assets for Burhlhe and Reyes... just money. There only really giving up Johnson here... Its like when we gave up Rios a few years ago and the new york media ripped us for giving away one of our best players for free (he wasn't one of our best players) its not that we didn't want Rios its just the timing wasn't right. The timing wasn't right for the marlins so they got out of a bad situation... The timing for us is perfect. Playoffs are in grasp now we just gotta hope they can get it done.

...what?

Your leadoff hitter produces runs for your team, Reyes has the contact and speed that neither Lawrie or Rasmus have at this point in their careers.

That the current depth, I don't see why not. He's either going to bat in the 2 slot or in the lower half of the lineup.

Wow. AA. WOW! I always believed in the guy and I know a lot of people had their doubts about him and Rogers. Hopefully this can reassure those fans. I certainly am!

It's easier to steal bases if there's not someone on the base ahead of you...I'd rather have Reyes going to third and Lawrie to 2nd than the other way around...

My go at Blue Jays Lineup with recent trade

1. Jose Reyes SS
2. Colby Rasmus CF (The hate for him here is silly and I feel like he will have a break out year with the jays next season, like 30 HR 90 RBI Breakout)
3. Jose Bautista RF
4. Edwin Encarnacion DH/1B
5. Adam Lind DH/1B (A little bit worse than 2009 form but passable
6. Brett Lawrie 3B (Starts hitting for power more)
7. Emilio Bonifacio 2B
8. Rajai Davis LF
9. JPA C

Rotation:

1. Morrow
2. Dempster (We pick him up for less than the asking price but he disappoints and sucks)
3. Johnson
4. Romero (Less pressure for him to perform this year will do better)
5. Buehrle

Not to mention you don't want to try and steal when Bats and Edwin are up. Reyes will bat lead off.

So will hitting 2nd make that all disappear? I am not saying Reyes should hit 7th or something. I am saying Lawrie should be #1 and Reyes #2, rather than Reyes and Rasmis/Boni. I like Lawrie up there. Rasmus doesn't belong there.

It's Nick Kypreos making a sarcastic remark about being a baseball insider.

Please try and atleast look at who is posting information on twitter.
