It's almost like there was no defense at all.

It looks like we had our own Nyquist explosion.

We do have 7 20 year old rookies and the defense is full of guys who are suppose to provide offense, Brodin and Bagnall are the only ones I think you could say are "defensive".

EDIT: Watching the highlights the defense looks absolutely terrible.

The Wellman goal in particular was just embarrassing.

Defense? Oh you mean those guys in front of the goalie..

Seriously, it looked quite bad. And I only watched the highlights. On the bright side, they won the scoring contest.

Defense had a late night. They didn't set their alarm clock.

Scandella should be completely embarrassed about Wellman's goal.

Jason Zucker is the most bestest.

Carry on.

Well that was ugly. Looked almost like pond hockey. I'm really, really disappointed in Scandella and Cuma. I mean they are the veterans and they play like that? I'm serious. Scandella should be the veteran on that defense. And that was absolutely ugly.

The Bulmer unsportsmanlike was a BS penalty. He caught a pass offsides, the ref apparently didn't blow the whistle (no one on the Aeros heard it, and neither did either announcer). So Bulmer kept the play going, took a shot, and scored. He clearly did not hear a whistle because after the apparent goal he celebrated like Zucker until a Rampage player tried to maul him.

Huh. Thats odd. Hackett with one, too. Great. Turning into a headcase. At least Kuemper is collected. Wellman and the Rampage bench with one, too.

Hackett's penalty was a bit more deserved, but another huge ref blunder. Broda was hit from behind and boarded (away from the play too judging from the replay of San Antonio's goal) and while he was lying motionless on the ice, San Antonio hacked and slashed their way to an ugly ugly goal. Hackett was furious about it (while Broda was more or less carried off the ice) and let the refs know about it. Fortunately, Broda apparently was okay as he came back the next period.

The Wellman unsportsmanlike was strange and not really clear what happened. Yonkman freaked out at the refs when the first period ended about the delay of game he took a few minutes prior. When the teams came back on the ice after the intermission, Wellman seems to have said something about it to the refs and they threw him in the box over it.
