Woah, that is one massive trade for the Jays. I'm liking what we got for sure and think we will easily, jsut have to remember that we gave up a lot of prospects so if for whatever reason one decides to break out and if we run into injuries with who we got it may begin to look bad haha.
How much extra salary did we take on? How long are the players we got signed for?
Just bet 985 vCash on Argentina beating Saudi Arabia in a soccer match. 1182 if I win
Every year we say Blue Jays have improved and every year they aren't too close to making the playoffs (except 2010 I think, and even then, not really). Given the teams in the AL East, I can't see the Blue Jaays making the playoffs unless something drastically changes. When's the last time we came better then 2nd last in our division?
Do you follow baseball at all? The rotation is capable of competing in the AL east, the bullpen is nasty good and the lineup should be pretty consistent too. I'm not guaranteeing playoffs but pitching is so important and we're closer to getting there from this trade.
Last year: Morrow-Romero-Drabek-Hutchinson-Alvarez --- the latter 3 are extremely inexperienced, hence the up and downs from them.
This year: Johnson (an Ace -- #1C if you please)-Morrow (a very good #2 pitcher, can dominate)-Buerhle (consistent, he's important because he's a workhorse and you know what you're getting as opposed to the 3 kids last year)-Romero (had an awful year, but I think he'll bounce back somewhat)-Happ (a bit of a wildcard as well).
That in itself is enough to make a difference. I'd go on about the bullpen but I hate making long posts . Guys like this are necessary to go against the big guns like Tampa and the Yankees.

We're pushing 115M starting next season, Reyes is signed for 7 more years, and Johnson is a free agent after next. And btw, we're still a top 10 team in terms of prospects, even though we gave them a few.

Exactly. Somehow kept 2 of the 3 Lansing studs... + kept D'arnaud. Unreal.

1. Romero
2. Johnson
3. Morrow
4. Buerhle
5. Happ/Sanchez or another free agent.
That rotation looks scary good, we have potentially three #1's, Romero, Johnson and Buerhle. Morrow is a good #2, and Happ can be a decent #4/5, Sanchez is a #3. I think this trade will attract some players' and managers attention towards Toronto.
I've posted this a lot, but imagine if we get Hamilton
Just read the TSN article on the trade, damn, I take it back, I'm not just liking the trade, I'm loving it haha.
I also see from TSN we took on ALOT of salary, oh well. Rogers can now look at it as the Leafs can pay for the Blue Jays so they can compete in the AL East
70,417 posts behind the Habs board now. We just gained about 3000 posts in the last 2 days. We may just beat them to 3,000,000 posts.
Edit: Just saw that the Steelheads had to bring the game to overtime to win. I almost lost all my vCash haha. I'm on a role right now though! Betting on Argentina to hopefulyl bring me to about 1200, then I'm hoping I will get the vCash in time to bet on Brazil beating Columbia.

What is Burle's and Reye's contracts looking like?
From TSN
Quote:
Johnson is owed $13.75 million next season. Reyes has $96 million left on a deal expiring in 2018. Buehrle has $52 million remaining on a deal expiring in 2015.
Johnson I believe is on the last year of his contract.
So, my iPhone 5 was at 1% battery at the exact same time my laptop was at 100% (just unplugged it)
Long story short, my iPhone lasted longer, at a whopping 15 minutes, while my POS laptop completely drained within 3 minutes even with the energy saving mode on...
Just about got hit in the throat tonight in ball hockey. But I think if the shot came in any higher it would have clipped my cage before getting to me... makes me wonder why they don't enforce goalies wearing some sort of neck protection.
